But honestly, they wouldn't do it that way. They'd do it like they snuck in Kadaj, Loz and Yazoo. Which was clever as fuck.

They'd be whispers of future SOLDIERs. But you'd notice the one wing on the left shoulder of one, and the double katanas wielded by the other.

ACC was the last Compilation entry I'm 2009. DC preceded ACC and CC in 2006.

Do the light novels count as Compilation entries? TKAA was the very last FFVII spin-off before the remake, in that case.

CC had that scene of Weiss and Nero picking up Genesis, so they hardly forgot about the DC scene.

The Isle Dragon Roars could be either another event like that, some totally unrelated random mobile game or manga/novella...

Yeah it's more a question of "where" than "when." You've got the frustrations thread, and in non-pandemic times, the PUB!

When though? Right away, and never. I've never seen such a varied array of expectations, criticisms, and uncrossable lines with this franchise. Any criticism levied against it seems to collide with someone else's favorite part. FF7 has long defied orthodoxy among its fandom, so just say what you feel and I'll lol. You can always PM me too, I hold space for all the world's cynicism.
