Can someone provide any context for the non-nerds? :monster:

This is the story of the team that stole the plans for the first Death Star (i.e. the thing that Vader is hunting down at the beginning of A New Hope when he boards Leia's ship and captures her) and managed to get them for the Rebellion – which is essentially what enabled EVERYTHING important to happen in the Star Wars universe from Episode IV onward. AND we're getting it delivered in an absolutely BEAUTIFULLY shot war movie format.

Not sure if there's a better place to put this, but.... Kenny Baker died today. Along with Anthony Daniels, he was one of the two actors to be in every episode of the original saga.

I find it fascinating that a character like R2-D2 can be so ingrained into popular culture, without ever seeing the face behind the character. Of course, Star Wars has multiple characters like that, but still. The impression a character can make (name 5 people in your immediate vicinity who have no idea who R2-D2 is) without ever even showing their face is awe-inspiring to me.

Rest in Peace, Mr. Baker. Be free of that restraining bolt we call life, and go out into a place far, far away.
