No one considers vampires to be a credible threat in the Twilight universe because they sparkle.

At least, that's as credible an explanation as anything Stephenie Meyer is likely to come up with.

I should point out that her name really is spelled Stephenie. No, I'd never heard of it being spelled that way before I noticed how she spelled it either.

I know it's from Alien, but I didn't get the reference. (Poor Mr. John Hurt, he's always getting the roles where he's harmed or killed.)

Due to one fan of the series (who did not like the fourth book) I know that Edward and Bella have a child, but all I was told was the child is (like?) a monster due to being a half-breed. But, I don't get it...

Well, if that banner is a good representation of what happens, I can only say: Oh gods!

Vampires are supposed to suck blood; what do these guys do, eat the flesh as well? That goes beyond vampirism in my book. : Oh well, surprise, surprise.

And here I thought 'sparkling' in sunlight was a creative addition to the vampire folklore... Now we got 'mutant'-half-breed children, too?
