What is cruel is this two faced trollop of a show that dared to make me hope and be excited for the future, only to rip it all out beneath me.
My thought process going up to the whole scene was all, "Now Ben has been fired from the newspaper. His wife tells him to start a blog. I bet he will call it Frontline. He'll eventually develop it into a news site. Maybe start his own paper. He'll cover Civil War, since Frontline was originally born out of that. He'll show up in the next Spider-Man movie. Ben Urich will be every-freaking-where and it will be glorious mmhmm.
Oh but then Kingpin is creepin' in the corner and I'm all, "Nononononononononononono."
I started coming up with plot ideas that allowed Ben to survive this even though they wouldn't have made any sense. I was literally begging the show out loud at this point to let him live. But it chose to ignore me.
It hurt me.
