A few stray thoughts:

The finale was a bit anti-climactic. Daredevil kind of was as well.

I wonder if a second season would be about that organization that gave Jessica her powers? Also, what the fuck is it with discount-Steve Rogers, Simpson? Guy went from sympathetic victim to pretty nice dude to kinda douchey to kinda asshole sociopath on steroids.

Ruben's sister was so fucking annoying, Jesus Criminy. That they just dumped his body though was pretty fucked up.

I feel like I should be liking this more than I am. (Three episodes in). Maybe it's just Marvel fatigue. I went in completely blind, with no idea who Jessica Jones was or what she could do.

Is the original villain British, or is that just the nature of evil on TV? (Don't want to look it up in case of spoilers)

Lester Freeman is still in the police, yaaay!

My unfair knee jerk reaction "Female protagonist -of course the villain has to be a rapist obsessed with her" but I looked into it enough to realise that's a central part of her arc anyway, so my reaction wasn't justified.

Like, I'm watching it, I'm enjoying it, but not blown away. The thing with the anaesthetic is odd- if you get close enough to inject it, just tear his head off, and wouldn't earplugs or headphones be a cheaper alternative? It's also not typically an instant knockout, he'd have time to tell you to go kill yourself.

@Clement Rage: The one issue with that is that
the whole crux of the issue is that if they just insta-murder him without capturing him, they can't prove Hope's innocence.

For real though -- glad you're back and aside from making one hell of an arrival with the Civil War trailer, I can't wait to hear your thoughts on ALL THE THINGS!!!

I'm not done with Jessica Jones yet.
the show just finally showed us Kilgrave's face. I watched the episode where her friend was interviewing Hope on the radio

However it is quite epic. Hopefully I'll get to watch it over the weekend, but then I've also got to catch up on NaNoWriMo. :P

Watched it, loved it. Honestly, my gf and I liked it more than "Daredevil." :monster:

I'm still surprised that they went with Jessica Jones (who was created in 2001) alongside all these other superheroes in the MCU, who have been around for decades.

I hope they still get new series of Netflix in fangirl heaven.
First that "Star Trek Beyond" thing and now this ...

Are you ... are you a prophet?

Killgrave was Croatian in the comics.

Just finished watching episode 12 with the wife and really really enjoyed the show. It was really gritty and didn't feel like any other marvel production so far which was great.
Tennant as kilgrave was a stroke of genius, he was absolutely amazing playing the role and at times I felt myself rooting for him than I did Jessica. I didn't particularly like luke cages character in the show however, to me he just didn't portray the same character you see in the comics and I could actually feel myself wanting him to get killed by that shotgun blast to the throat. I loved the flashback scene where they are talking about Jessica's superhero name and costume which paid a nice homage to her character in the comics. Overall I really liked it and it's had the best bad guy of any show in a long time but I still feel as a whole that daredevil was better overall.

On Episode 8:

Jessica broke a Game Boy. Clearly she already had powers beyond mortal ken. Good back and forth here, I like how it's not just villain dominance until the end.

Finally got around to finishing JJ. Trigger warnings, I guess.

That was really, really good.

They had to be very careful to make sure that Kilgrave couldn't get a Loki style fanbase, that can be a difficult balance while maintaining him as a legitimate threat. So they made him just dangerous enough, while making sure his main advantage was that JJ had to hold back. They pulled that off brilliantly while making sure that the serial rapist didn't warrant any sympathy- his excuses are just good enough to be realistic but not good enough to be any way credible.

Minor Nitpicks:

Really, Holgarth? Did you not see that coming?

Why didn't anyone try using headphones until the finale? Trish is a radio presenter, she probably has some high quality sets.

Question for the ages: Was JJ actually immune in the finale, or did the "STOP!" work, and she acted fast enough once he got in range, because he forgot to say "Don't kill me!" beforehand.
