Was so into it I forgot to keep track of episode numbers.

Finished up the episode where
Punisher is turned into the police and Elektra shows up in Matts apartment at the end.

It's soooo good.

That be episode 6.

I went to bed after watching episode 10. Gonna watch the last 3 now, totally not addicted. I do have two complaints, it's getting a bit crowded and Matt's being an asshole atm.

Phew, done.

Latter half of the season was a little disappointing as they didn't want to get too deep into Punisher/Blacksmith's backstory or into what Black Sky actually is. Looking forward to Iron Fist, where they won't pull their punches with the myth arc.

I agree.
There were just too many things going on in the latter half, we have the Punisher's storyline, then the Hand, then Kingpin showed and even Madam Gao for one scene. Then we got the law firm, a love triangle between Matt/Karen/Elektra that just why? Matt being a dick to Foggy, I'm glad he took the job at Hogarth. The trouble that comes with the avocados at law isn't worth it if Matt is just gonna be a dick. Also Frank ended up overshadowing Matt which I figured was going to happen but still. The Hand storyline was kind of a disappointment, it was underdeveloped and next to nothing was explained about them. I still loved the season just the first half was better.

Two eps in:

We're really running down the list of ethnic gangs, aren't we? Chinese, Japanese, Russians, Irish, now all we need is the Italians for the full set.

I don't know how they'd do it, but the choreography still doesn't quite sit right. I'd expect a blind man to not have to turn his head as much if he's not using his eyes. Maybe I'm just not watching properly.

Just finished the last episode.

NINJAS

NINJAS EVERYWHERE

GO NINJA GO NINJA GO

Also, I think The Punisher dropped the first MCU f-bomb in episode 3 :P

Also, I shat my pants at Fisk's outbreak at Matt in E10. Dude's scary when you piss him off. Can't wait for him to come back as a villain. Please be in a Spider-Man movie. Make it happen Sony/Marvel.

Finished last night. Just woke up. Favourite moments.

The ones that left me wordlessly excited:
• Matt vs. Fisk in prison.
• Foggy & Harper at lunch discussing vigilantes.

Others:
• Karen taking over for Ben made me really happy (curious about that newspaper article with the 16-year-old getting killed though). Her arc in and out of Matt's life was really well done, and I love that they end on the reveal of his identity.
• Stick, Elektra, the Hand, and a look at the bigger conflict. I keep being excited about the build up to Iron Fist here because of the way they handle the acceptance of the supernatural. Stick coming in to finish Nobu was a good touch.
• Kingpin using Frank in prison. Where this season felt a little odd for not having a consistent villanous presence, giving those few episodes with Fisk becoming Kingpin were utterly phenomenal. He's properly terrifying, and watching how he sets things in motion and benefits from it just made him even more perfect than he was last season.
• Shades of grey. While struggling with Elektra & Punisher as the good guys who aren't was a little uneven at times, I think that by the time they finally wrapped it all up, they'd properly executed building those characters into a way that we understand them and their struggles and motivations.

Stoked as hell for Luke Cage.

Five/Six Eps In.

Frank Castle's Legal Team? Didn't see that coming, I knew he couldn't carry a season on his own, but that was a great turn of events.

Aaaand done. Pretty mixed feelings.

I feel bad about knocking the army of evil ninjas, because there are few works of fiction that can't be improved by the addition of an army of evil ninjas. But it got too big, and then suddenly got small again at the end.

Punisher was well done, they didn't take the easy route and make him kill a bunch of innocents. I at first assumed the Blacksmith was Fisk, but what they did with it was fun.

Fisk has some serious screen presence even in very brief scenes.

Just finished up a few minutes ago. Did I miss why
the Hand dug that big hole?

Really good overall. That last scene was too long in the making, though -- I literally yelled "Well, it's about time!"

Ugh, trying again. I typed up a post but my cat made me lose it. :closedmonster:

But anyway, just finished episode four last night. It's pretty intense already and I'm liking it so far.
And it finishes with Elektra just sitting on his couch. dun DUN duuuuun

But anyway, I know it happens in the comics but I really don't want
Matt and Karen to be a thing. The way they are set up in this show a platonic work relationship is so much better for them. I don't find it believable that they would hook up, but I get a feeling that's where the show is going.

In fact I was actually hoping Karen and Foggy would become a thing. Season 1 kind of dangled it there then nothing happened for no reason. :closedmonster:

So, just finished watching the second season of Daredevil, and holy moly.

I'll refrain from posting spoilers, because I really don't feel like tagging anything right now, but these are my overall thoughts.

Jon Bernthal had a presence as Frank Castle that's been absent from previous Punisher incarnations. He owns the screen whenever he steps into it, no matter what he's doing. Bernthal definitely did a good job, and he really makes you feel for Castle's situation and storyline. Can't wait to meet this guy at comic con in a few months.

I guess Frank Miller isn't happy with this latest incarnation of his creation (Elektra), and I guess it's to be expected; you create a beloved character, and don't like the way they're handled after you've finished creating their story, nothing can really make you happy with anything that's put out after that, which is a damn shame, because I really like Elektra in this show. She's one of my favorite Marvel characters, period.

I will say that Elodie Yung's performance and they way the writers portrayed the character is definitely step up from how she's been portrayed in the past. Elektra has nearly always been a ruthless killer with a storyline that should be Rated R, and the showrunners have done a good job at staying as close to that as possible.

Thank god. Possibly super unpopular opinion incoming but

This makes me pretty happy. Truth be told I wasn't all to excited with the idea of the Luke Cage spin off. I like the character and I liked him in Jessica Jones but over all I thought so little of JJ that it turned me off to the Luke Cage spin off.

IMO Jessica Jones was an ok show but wasn't Daredevil tier. It's biggest saving grace for me was David Tennant. If he wasn't there it would have legitimately been an awful Daredevil season 1 clone (seriously they are waaay to similar) with horrible fight choreography, unnecessary and annoying sub plots with supporting cast.

Here's hoping Punisher and Iron Fist are great.

Tbqh, Luke Cage was one of the only things that I enjoyed about JJ (aside from the redeemed junkie and Night Nurse) - David Tennant notwithstanding. Probably because almost everybody is a slightly terrible person, so the longer I watched for, the less engaged I was with anyone involved. Probably BECAUSE of that, I'm actually really looking forward to Luke Cage series, whereas I couldn't care less if I never saw anybody from JJ ever again.
