Oh, I'm not saying go back to it, but yeah. It's time they moved on and actually did something that worked. And honestly, I'd rather see Barry try a relationship (not Irish, shoo girl!) in season two since there's far too much going on after that last scene.

They might straight up Flashpoint this stuff and have Barry save his mom and arrive in a timeline where he and Iris are already boyfriend and girlfriend in season finale.

Iris is literally the equivalent of Arrow's Laurel. I buy Barry's crush on her, I wouldn't buy them as an item whatsoever. In fact, even though I wouldn't ship them as a couple, he has far more chemistry with Caitlin.

I might buy the crush better, but it's nevertheless far more annoying to drag out the unrequited crush status for the rest of the series (and again, it's too late for it to narratively make sense for him to just be over her in a few episodes) then to at least try them as a couple.

And calling her the Laurel equivalent is way harsh, she's more likable then all that if you ask me. The show hasn't had the time to screw her up nearly that badly anyway.

I didn't see it coming either, that was well written. So the real Harrison died and Eobard took over. It makes a lot of sense now that revelation is out.

Also I absolutely laughed my arse off at Mark Hamill. He was a particular highlight for me this week.

I just about had it with this whole Iris can't know Barry is the Flash stupidity. This review points out very well why this is so fucking stupid:

All season long The Flash has had an Iris problem, except now it starts to look like the problem is actually everyone else. Truth be told, it’s mostly Joe and Barry, who continue to fiercely protect the Flash’s secret identity from her and nobody else. Joe is comfortable calling the Flash “Barry” in front of criminals, and Barry has no problem with the fact that Felicity spilled his secret to a guy he’s never met. The secret identity is officially a joke at this point, but the biggest joke is the continued insistence that somehow Iris is the only one who needs to be protected from this information.

If this is all unfair to Iris, it’s at least as bad for Eddie, caught in the middle through no fault of his own. Granted, he should probably just grow a spine and dismiss Joe’s paternalistic over protectiveness for what it is, but it’s still not clear why he was put in this position in the first place. Yes, he and Joe are working more closely with the Flash now, but there’s no compelling reason Eddie has to know their new ally is Barry in order to make this arrangement work. It’s just a melodramatic device to inject tension into the Eddie/Iris relationship, but it ends up making our hero look like a jerk when it could so easily be avoided. The sooner the show clears this up, the better.

Seriously show just stop, it's really annoyingly stupid.

Caitlin and Cisco are in on the secret. It was clever to get Cisco dreaming of the alternate timeline with simple words reminding him.

It was also great seeng Felicity again in the show, she stole the show for me with the one-liners she'd deliver (especially the hack-off!). I don't mind Ray so much, but I think he's way too cocky. If they toned it down, maybe I'd like him more. He might be ok in the new spin-off show, though.

I keep thinking that with recent episodes and it falling apart there lately, I can't help feeling that Barry's going to alternate the timeline and certain things are going to undo themselves. Take Sara Lance for instance. We don't know what kind of role she's going to have on the spin-off show, but I've seen discussions around on the net that Barry could end up saving her... or, erm, something. And that's especially since Barry was able to go back in time.

With him looking very likely to be heading back to the past (well, it IS him fighting Reverse Flash, right?), it could be an alternate timeline across both shows, although this could probably be more emphasised on The Flash rather than Arrow because of the show's nature.

I'd like the idea of a "what if" season, though. We'd actually get to see the consequences of everything tumbling down and then erasing it like nothing happened.

Last night's episode was so fucking stupid.

Basically every character in Central City was carrying the idiot ball. That shapeshifter really shouldn't have been that much trouble to bring down by Barry, the dude's powers are not super strength. Also c'mon did no one really think anything wrong of the name Hannibal Bates? So Barry Eddie shows up at your house with a very obvious lie about how he got out of prison and you immediately fall for it? C'mon man. So the meta human is captured and the girls take him to the police station in the backseat of the car for everyone to see, what could possibly go wrong? Hadn't Caitlin made a serum to stop him from shapeshifting? Btw even Eddie has more chemistry with Barry than Iris. Look I don't watch Arrow because I find their interpretation of Black Canary to be a complete embarrassment so get that shit away from The Flash immediately. Really about the only good thing about this episode were the last 5 minutes.

I'm going to disagree with you, Carlie. I really liked the episode. However, saying that, I definitely agree about the whole Eddie-getting-out-of-custody thing. I was literally facepalming the whole thing. Also the writers are such trolls, since they showed Barry and Caitlin kissing in a trailer not long ago. Now that's plain cruel for those Snowallen shippers because it was the shapeshifter. Clever, though.

As someone who watches Arrow and generally despises Laurel, she was used really well here. In fact, it's one of the rare scenes I actually like of her. Captain Lance was great here too, since I've been so fed up with his vendetta against Oliver in Arrow lately. But the end goal was achieved here: the real Harrison Wells has been uncovered. The last few minutes were fantastic.

I do wonder what the final few episodes have in store for us. It's all looking amazing.

It's great to finally see Wells embrace his true colours. Just when you thought the plan was going to get that confession, he pulled THAT bloody trick. When he grabbed Eddie and confronted him at the end, it makes me wonder what kind of relation he is (son? grandson?). On that front, I'm really hoping Barry doesn't end up with Iris as foreshadowed by the headline. However, Barry's one-liner that involved hyphenating her name was the best of the week.

I prefer Iris finding out this way about Barry than the last. The flashbacks were pretty great, especially the one of Wells. I can see a lot of things changing about this future, even if some things stay the same (I'm calling it now that Nora stays dead, regardless).

Really can't wait to see how the last few episodes are going to play out and even how the next season will be without Wells (because let's face it, it's very unlikely he'll be in it as magnificent as he is).

It's going to take a heck of a lot of work, but if they've managed to pull off this phenomenal season, then I have every faith the second season will be a treat.

For the first time all season I actually like Iris. I thought it was going to take all episode if at all for her to reveal she knew Barry was the Flash. But it happens almost immediately in an awesome fashion. With her then spending a significant part of the rest of the episode calling people out on their bullshit behavior.

Btw Grodd was awesome.
