Since this came up on IRC on Sunday, I might as well inform the club here- I've actually made Zelda/Link an OC pairing.
Yes, that makes no sense, I know.
I run a DnD game- well, pathfinder now, but it was 3.5 when we started- and I had created an NPC by the name of Richard- an Elven ranger with the gimmick that he really hated the pidgeonhole elves had made for themselves. There is some palpable irony in his being a Ranger, yes. Anyways, I needed a plot hook, so I gave him a crazy, "Elf pride" type grandfather with ambitions of deific apotheosis. I also gave him a princess for a fiancee.
Think you see where this is going?
You're wrong. Because the princess is Link and the Ranger is Zelda.
But yes, I created Richard AKA Zelladariath, his Fiancee Princess Laenka, and his crazy ass grandfather Gandaorif. And I hung lampshades on it the entire time. The first puzzle in the game was Zelda's Lullaby, for one.
During a Guest DMing, we basically had to play Ocarina of Time inside a god's head.
So, have any of you folks done anything nearly as silly?
