You aren't allowed to 'strain your eyes' - which means no reading, no tv, no video games, no movies. Plus you have some light sensitivity for the first couple hours - though this is significantly reduced by the dark sunglasses you have to wear constantly (even while sleeping) for the next 48 hours (their primary purpose is to stop you from rubbing your eyes, but naturally they help with the light issue as well).

Needless to say I was bored shitless yesterday. XD

And I'm past the 24 hour mark now so it's safe for me to 'strain' now provided I take regular breaks.

1. Consistently not getting enough sleep (like an hour a night, it adds up) and feeling like I suck and/or can't concentrate and/or aren't very (mentally) energetic because of it.

2. Performance pressure, aka a colleague that gives the impression he thinks I suck. Which, compared to his standards of spending (in my experience) 90% of his waking hours on programming, is correct, . But fuck 'em.

I got a letter from one of my net friends while I was out today, and I see it unopened on the table. Obviously that means someone read it... so I read some of the things written in there and well of course it mentions some things that I've told her about myself (and she's told me about herself) that my parents do not know. I came home just now (2am) and opening/closing the garage woke my Dad up so he came down as I was reading the letter. I guess he wants he, my Mom and I to have a talk about what's in the letter. And I know exactly how it's going to go. It's nothing about what I've done to myself, it's not that I'm secretly into hardcore drugs or anything.

Let's just say I've had gay/bi/lesbian friends, dated someone who was bi before, etc and they gave me a similar talk. About that I have to be careful not to catch the disease that all homosexuals/bisexuals automatically carry with them. Oh and also my Mother likes to rant about how you can't be bisexual and if you say you are you're just confused and you should just be able to PICK A GENDER, GAWD. It's very frustrating, the talk it's self is annoying but it's even more annoying because my privacy was invaded.

Yes, my Uncle was gay and he died from AIDS. That doesn't mean everyone else that is gay is going to... my parents are idiots.

I know they are expressing their worry, but they are also being extremely judgmental, close minded, and not thinking logically or rationally. To say that *EVERY* person who is in love with the same gender (or goes both ways) already HAS the disease or that you will absolutely get the disease by being in a relationship etc, is idiotic. They are nurses too, so their lack of knowledge on the matter sort of surprises me. They say they get patients all the time like this, but that doesn't apply to everyone in the entire world. It's like saying because a heterosexual person has cancer, that all heterosexuals will get cancer and if you date someone YOU will get cancer too. It's a ridiculous way of thinking, and it pisses me off just as much as my mail being read. ._.;
