And yes, 3 hour commute for a half day is not worth it. Depends on pay, I don't think a 20 minute commute for a full day is worth it. OTOH, At another time, 40 minutes was peachy keen.

what was supposed to be a nice night turned out really shitty

ended up having to run to my dad's apartment because lol alcohol poisoning but he didn't want my mom to know so i ended up having to cancel (literally last minute) plans with her without telling her why and she just

calls me up about how i always choose my dad over her and she's tired of trying to build a bridge between us etc etc

so im just sitting in my dad's studio crying while my girlfriend gives my dad water so he won't puke on himself again and

theres just that really sad moment where i realized me and my girlfriend are really my dad's only friends and he barely has any family left aside from my mom's side who have decided receiving christmas gifts from him is too ~uncomfortable~ now that he and my mom are divorced

what bullshit is that
like you haven't known my dad for 21 years and gotten along with him no it offends your delicate senses to be assed to get a gift for the fucking guy

idk everything tonight made me really upset im just gonna shut up now

families have a tendency to be fucked up. my mom was basically disowned not only from my father's side of the family, but her own as well (for no raisin).

Basically I can say I can sort of relate, even if things aren't exactly the same so... if you ever need an ear you have my number

This same dog just died this day. Sad he died when I was at work. Wasn't there to see the old buddy go. Not pissed, just terribly sad.

This is piddly shit compared to what Zee and The Underpants Man posted, but it did annoy the shit out of me so here it is: I was playing through The Parish campaign on L4D2, which is the campaign I have the most trouble with out of all of them (as expected since it is the final campaign). And I was rocking it pretty hard despite the Director being dickish enough to put a Wandering Witch right in the middle of the Gauntlet Crescendo at the decontamination trailer, where it was impossible to avoid her and really difficult to kill her. And it was surprisingly easy, otherwise, there were minimal Witches (all in locations where it was easy to sneak around them) and only one Tank.

Then we got to the impound lot, full of alarmed cars. I was hoping against hope to get the Violence in Silence achievement, since the bots and I had encountered so little trouble so far. But, the Director went full on dick. Only a couple of Special Infected spawned while we were inside, which is unusual and got my hopes up even higher... and then I found the cars had been set up so there was no way through without walking on top of one And even though I've been told the alarm shouldn't go off from standing on a car with an alarm, the moment I jumped up to go around it it sounded. So despite getting through only having to fight one horde of zombies, and coming out pretty well unscathed (thanks to me swinging a machete like crazy and running circles around my near defenseless bots to keep them safe), no achievement for me

Sorry about the dog Mr. Kowai, loosing a pet is awful I'd feel the same seeing as I have 2 cats and live away from home.

Ankle is still sore, it's underneath the ankle, feels quite tender to touch and still sore to walk on but I can wiggle and clench my toes ok so I hope that's a sign of a non-broken ankle. I'm just praying it's not anything worse than a bad sprain or just because of the old injury.

Got a support bandage on and I'm off work tomorrow so plenty of time to rest it. I'm gonna wait a few days before deciding whether I should go to hospital or not and I really hope not, that would mean taking time off work if it's anything serious and I don't want to do that especially over christmas when we're so busy.

Why did this fucking have to happen, I'm so pissed off right now it's not even funny.

Isn't Toronto like the only inhabited place in Canada?

And I have a 3 hour commute every day for an 8 hour workday. The pay is good though, travel expenses are covered, and I get to work at home every once in a while (usually fridays). Finding a house closer to work at an affordable price is nigh-on impossible though. For anything below ~€650, there's a 5-year waiting time, and even then you can only hope to live in the shittiest apartments amongst white trash and the unemployed. I earn enough to get a place in the 'free market', but even that would mean I'd have to spend half my net monthly wage on rent and the rest. And I'd have to find something too.

So yeah, the Dutch housing market in the midwest of Dutchyland - the big cities and all the work etc - pisses me off. I told myself that if I don't have anything closer to work in a year, I'm moving back to Friesland. Pay will probably be less, but so is the cost of living.

Sounds like she was trying to be nice but it backfired. I'm guessing she assumed that glasses wearers feel pressured to wear contacts or something, so shes saying 'yeah man don't change for nobody!'

this reminds me of my mom a lot idk. a lot of her own family decided to not talk to her after she got an abusive boyfriend a while back (i don't even get it???) and we used to get presents from dad's great aunts for a while but we were too poor to get anything back so they haven't mailed us anything for a long while.

but at least mom has a lot of other people she talks to besides me that's good. your dad being so alone sounds terrible and im sorry
