I try to do it as little as possible, because I realize it's annoying and when I do it I annoy myself. xD

I really don't dislike Hugo Chávez that much... But why, WHY, why he, his government and a good 60% of his fans must be SO stupid, why? And why the political opposition of this country is so full of fail? They are even WORSE than Chávez and his "Bolivarian Socialism". Presidential Elections are closing in, 2012, and there's no one good enough to confront Chavez, IF the opposition wins, it will be not by its own merits but because of the government own failures and that, my friends, is sad.

And people just don't care, they're just partying and being stupid while the country is falling apart. I really don't want to leave Venezuela, this country is beautiful, but if Chávez wins in 2012... I really don't know what will happen here.

Blergh.

It really is a shame there isn't an honest opposition because when a government is unopposed, it tends to behave in unsavoury ways. But, as you said, the opposition is pretty much even worse. No one can take them seriously. Which basically means there's no credible threat to Chávez, and thus nothing preventing him from behaving in increasingly autocratic ways.

Still hasn't stopped me from buying my gas at Citgo though. Mostly because all the other oil companies are even worse.

And hell, I'd say it's worse here. It's gotten to the point where most people automatically assume that anything a politician says is bullshit. Which is probably the best way to treat our politicians, but it's unfortunate because it basically prevents meaningful engagement with the system. There are signs that people might be starting to be willing to take direct action on a large scale, which is pretty much the only way anything will change, but most of the country still seems pretty damn apathetic. Most of them don't care unless their jobs are on the line. And our generation is, as I said above, tremendously underemployed. I'm pretty sure we're the first generation of Americans in a long time that has grown up expecting that we'll have things worse off than our parents' generation had it.

On a completely unrelated note, that Heaven Is Real book is kind of pissing me off. A near-death experience involves the brain releasing shitloads of DMT. So basically the kid was tripping. If you want to tell yourself you saw God, fine, but don't act like there has to be a supernatural explanation for what you saw. There doesn't.

Okaaaay, so my phone is doing the drugs again. Or something, idk. It now has a nasty habit of sending my texts, but not marking them as sent (or whatever), so it continues to try to send the message. The problem here is that there's no telling when it will actually send that message - I've had it send a dupe message as long as three days after the original was sent.

This is particularly irritating when I wake up this morning to a text from someone because it sent them a message at three thirty in the morning =/

You know what really pisses me off? Bandai and their Robot Damashii/Spirits line.

Those fuckers just like to randomly release figures as exclusives for this Japanese website called Tamashii, and what ticks me off is they do it for figures that should have been a mass release like the Mordred from Code Geass, resulting in you having to pay out the arsehole on the secondary market to get them (Sadly in some cases they are just too damn expensive).

Other fine examples of Bandai trolling by releasing awesome products as Tamashii exclusives.

Verizon shut down the internet two days early at my old house and I&#8217;d already packed up nearly all of my books so I have been bored senseless almost the entire time. We are finally moved into the new house, so that&#8217;s nice. I don&#8217;t have my own computer set up yet though; I am leeching off my dad&#8217;s laptop.

Also I&#8217;m exhausted because I barely slept last night and all kinds of things were going on today that kept me from getting much sleep. Distressing.

Other than that I hate it when people bother you for help while at the same talking on the cell phone. Inconsiderate. If you&#8217;re not going to give me your full attention then it&#8217;s incredibly insulting to ask me for mine.
