I feel for you, Dacon, man. =( I'm sorry.

So, I guess I should offer my review of this thing. I played it a few days after Christmas and -- once I started -- couldn't put it down until I'd finished it.

Overall, I like the story from "Uncharted 2" the best in the series, though this game's tale is no less excellent. There are some very powerful moments, and I adore the interplay between Sully and Nate across Nate's life. The scenes between Nate and Elena are, perhaps, even better.

The subtlety in how
we're informed about their marriage and past relationship woes
was excellent. I like how the narrative leaves it to us to fill in those pieces. We didn't need a flashback to
Elena blowing up over Nate's risk-taking and OCD with treasure
to figure out what went down.

My two favorite scenes also feature on the Elena/Nate relationship. Second favorite:
The "I swapped it for something" better scene at the very end, when Nate puts his wedding ring back on. That was so fucking sweet.

Then my very favorite was the
"I'm sorry" scene.
My wife had watched me play bits and pieces of the first two games, and hadn't watched me play more than an hour of this one when I got to that part, and it struck a chord with her as well. There's something so human about that scene. I'm not sure what it is, but it's genuine and really speaks to something in all of us, I think.

In terms of action setpieces, this game is at least the equal of its predecessor. Some segments definitely surpass it.

The whole scenario with the
pirates and the ship graveyard
kind of felt like a misstep that derailed the narrative to me for a while, until I realized that it was this experience that gets Nate to the
"I'm sorry"
bit. I was able to appreciate it for its narrative value as well after that -- not just the excellent platforming and truly memorable action segments it offered.

But it wouldn't be an understatement to say that the whole game is full of memorable action segments. The plane sscenario that featured so heavily into the advertising certainly didn't disappoint. Nate continues to express what the players themselves are thinking in this game, and in that scene in particular. When
Marlowe's men start firing on him while he's dangling out the back of the plane on that net, I myself said aloud "You've got to be kidding me!" only for Nate himself to say the exact same thing not two seconds later.
The wife and I got a pretty good laugh out of that one.

Probably my favorite action sequence was the
Talbot chase scene, though I was disappointed we didn't get to finish him off for a long while still. By the time we do, I was really ready for him to be gone.

My only real disappointment with the game, though, is during the final chapter. I wish
that we had gotten to interact at the lake with the Djinn jar, fight the guys there, and shoot down that cable ourselves.
Things felt just a tad anti-climactic the way they were done, though that
final hand-to-hand battle with Talbot as the city came down around us
went some ways to making up for it.

All in all, a truly amazing, thoroughly satisfying game that other games only wish they could be. To say that I don't favor it quite as much as "Uncharted 2" is still a massive compliment rather than an insult.

Haven't gotten to do the Multiplayer yet.

IMO, the plane and the desert- while the sections you were in them were fine and lovely and long enough thank you- were slightly mishandled as the iconic image of the game.

We should have started with Nate standing by the wreckage, picking up the AK, and walking off, to transition to him walking through London at the same determined pace. The way they handled it didn't have the same effect.

As for the Multi, I'd be willing to go a round with you on it. I think it goes up to 3P for Coop, so you, me, and a third could have another go at it.

So, this will be a dumb question: what do I need to do to play this thing multiplayer?

By the way, Ryu, I agree about the wrecked plane being poorly chosen as the iconic image for this game. Nate dangling from the train worked in the last one because of how it was integrated into the story with the in media res beginning, and while something similar might have been the right idea for this game if they wanted to make the wrecked plane serve as that image, I think
it would have also been a poor decision to give us an in media res beginning, then cut back to Sully and Nate entering that tavern, and then go into the flashback of Nate meeting Sully after they get "shot."

There wouldn't have been any tension to them getting shot, as we'd know Nate is going to be back on his feet sometime soon so he can be on that plane when it crashes.

The beginning would have needed to be heavily re-written in order to make that work. Not saying it couldn't or shouldn't have been done; I'm just saying that I wouldn't be surprised if they had considered it as well and then decided it against for the reasons above.

A PS3, an internet, and for best results, a headset or Microphone.

Well, them choosing the plane with Nate as the establishing shot sort of does that to begin with- he has to get to a plane sometime in the game, so before that point, his demise is off the table.
One could rework the beginning slightly so that the flashback happens at some other point, Or change the iconic image to something Nate does not need to cause- it might not be too much of a pooch screw to show off the final city without any context and swoop from its streets and alleys to those of London.
