I hope they'll bring back all of the original cast from Advent Children, Dirge of Cerberus and Crisis Core, because those guys are just perfect for the characters of FFVII.

I want to hear Steve Burton(who is actually pretty cute despite being 45) voice Cloud again, and waited for ages for Quinton Flynn(I want to meet the guy, since I lost all hope to meet Robin Williams whom I wanted to meet for years, but that's another story) to voice Reno again.

Aerith and Yuffie's voice actors were replaced already(Aerith twice, well, Mandy Moore is more fitting as Rapunzel than as Aerith in KH),-(Yuffie voice, though both her actors are perfect for her, so, either one would be okay), I wanna hear more of Elena's voice actor(Can't remember her name), you can't replace Steven Blum as Vincent, and George Newbarn(I can't remember his last name) is I think the only one for Sephiroth, and Rick Gormez as Zack.

As a matter of fact, I want all of them to return. I practically don't care who voices Rufus's father, however, if Veld should make an appearence, or say, if Square Enix decide to allow the Compilation to continue even after the 20th Anniversary of the original in 2017 and remake Before Crisis, I think Mark Hamill(the same guy who played Luke in Star Wars and is the current voice actor of Eraqus in KH series) should be the voice actor of Veld.

Can't remember if I said this before but I'd like Liam O'Brien to play Dyne. He does crazy/insane characters so well, and not just the cackling madman type (though he's awesome at that) but also the sinister, seems sane but is actually nuckin' futs type too. I reckon he'd be perfect for it.

I guess I'm not sure what you're trying to say here. They tried to give Cait a kind of southern accent at some random points in the original game, but if they give him a Scottish voice in the remake he can say the same lines... just with a Scottish accent. Words like "y'all" can just be replaced with "all of you" or something. I'm confused. Am I missing your point here?

No, no, you're fine - to be honest, looking back, I probably didn't phrase things so clearly. You're pretty much right, though - what I was thinking was would it be a case of giving him lines first and foremost and finding the right voice for him, or will his lines be written already with the Scottish accent in mind. Either way, you're not confused (though I likely was), and it's probably safe to say they'll elaborate him in the way they have in the later games

(When I was trying to look up some information regarding the whole "Kansai" dialect, I feel I may have been misinformed inititally - one article suggested the dialect had a sort of southern twang to it - and, then I look up an article on the dialect AND Cait Sith's name, and the info there says how it makes perfect sense to be "Scottish" in comparison)
(And there I also saw how the Japanese version of the game made it more clearer regarding his accent)

Steve Burton at least knew who Cloud was when he went for the role. Though he's never directly said that he's played FF7. At least not that I know of

I've read it was that role that got him considered for Sephiroth in later games (after Lance Bass)

Also, dub will suck, as I assume most of the voices will carry over from the Compilation to the remake. They really screwed the pooch putting this Bob Buchholz guy in charge of casting instead of Jack Fletcher (FFX, FFXII, FFXIII).

I have one issue with voice acting in the final fantasy 7 remake, how will i be able to name Barret MR. T, Think about it we all did it in one play through or other, but if we have voice acting we wont be able to rename anyone as it won't be the name in the voice recording. I for one would be saddened by this aspect.

When a character has their own personality, you have to accept that they can't be exactly who you want them to be, as is usually the intention with heroic mimes. It's hard to flesh out characters when you have to make them capable of conforming to everyone's different interpretations.

Well, personally, I'd probably agree with Paul Eiding as much as I hate characters having the change of voice actors. Still, Hojo is the most annoying villian with the most annoying voice in the universe. I wouldn't be surprised if Paul Eiding actually hated Hojo as well.

I can live with not being able to rename characters. It's probably best not being able to rename characters anymore. I like the idea more of the characters having actual names instead of the players renaming them. Wish they would do that for Link in the Legend of Zelda games, or the Pokemon Trainers in the Pokemon games.

Square Enix made the right choice in keeping the names of the characters in the Compilation of FFVII(Cloud, Tifa, Vincent, ect.).

It's the change of the voice actors I'm worried about.

I'm rather pickey when it comes to voice acting, especially when they change the majority of them and the new voice acting is terrible to the characters such as SM in season 3 and 4, CCS movie 2 and the Pokemon anime since season 9.

I found the voice acting for FFXIV A Realm Reborn off for the characters who speak. Compilation of FFVII voice acting and KH voice acting sound a million times better than FFXIV's voice actors.

i never played dc or cc in english, so maybe it's understandable that i didn't realise that the guy who played campbell in metal gear solid did hojo's voice

Well, Quinton Flynn wants to come back as Reno. I think he's voiced it a few times, but as it happens I was on Twitter at 2am this morning, and caught it for myself. Screenshots of our exchange are attached below.

Needless to say I was a little ecstatic about getting a favorite and a retweet from someone more famous than I. Only reason I joined the Pandora's box that is Twitter was to follow my favorite celebrities and VAs.

I get what you're saying. I get a small kick out of knowing that he even remembers who Reno is though, and that he's interested in returning.

I really hope he is returning as Reno. I honestly can't imagine a better voice for Reno.

Yeah, there's no one better to voice Reno or Axel/Lea than Quinton Flynn. He has to return as Reno, because I can't imagine anyone else to voice our favorite red-haired Turk!

I hope he returns as Lea&Axel in Kingdom Hearts 3 too. I also remember him being in the PS2 game of POTC Legend of Jack Sparrow, and also as Issu(or whatever) in FFX.

He can't be voicing Reno for the Remake and not voice Axel/Lea for KH3; I would probably bawl if that happened. They're the same guy, just in different universes!...sort of. Anyway, I love his voice for those two characters, it fits perfectly. I can't wait to hear the more 'darker' Reno for the remake.
