This clip has FINALLY been officially released to the public. This is from Metallica's set on the Day On The Green festival on August 31, 1985 at Oakland Alameda County Coliseum in Oakland, CA, in close proximity of the band's hometown of San Francisco. This was professionally shot footage taped by MTV, and segments of this live clip were used on a 1986 episode of that network's "Heavy Metal Mania" (a precursor to Headbangers Ball) during a segment that covered the band's Master of Puppets album and their tour with Ozzy Osbourne.

Has anybody ever posted a live version of a song that was filmed at a show that you were at (and a professionally filmed one at that)? Because that's exactly what I'm doing right now. This is from the Ozzfest 2004 tour, at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in San Antonio, TX. I was in the Mosh Pit at this very show. Consider yourselves Spellbound...by the Devil.

Dimmu is pretty valid, and shit . Didn't like their Abrahadabra album though, rather corny and shit. They seem to be on hiatus for now, even if they've announced a new album for a while now.

er. Agalloch - Sowilo Rune. Had to look it up, the spoken werdz at the end are from The Wicker Man (1973), spoken by Christopher Lee and shit before he was an old wizard/metal god. Interesting how his voice changed after that / sounds like nowadays, I didn't recognise it for years (also apparently this album is from 2007).

I'll be seeing these guys, along with Disturbed, Megadeth, Bullet For My Valentine, Hatebreed, Sevendust, Devil Driver, Avatar, Sixx AM, Hellyeah, Texas Hippie Coalition among others, at the River City Rockfest the day before Memorial Day.

Funny thing is, this band was the first concert I ever went to. It was a co-headlining tour with Motley Crue called the Maximum Rock Tour in 1999. I forget who was opening for them, but what I do remember is getting a small education on Sex, Drugs, and Rock n Roll only 2 months shy of turning 16. My dad went to the show for the Scorpions, I went for Motley Crue.

Man, it was awesome. Playing old and new tracks, lots of improvisation and jamming, and Joe Satriani himself doesn't seem to have gotten old. I wish I would have half as much energy when I hit 60 years old!

^^^ I really dig Periphery. Their guitarist is outstanding. Not to mention, he's a HUGE Nobuo Uematsu fan. He's got some FFVII covers floating around out there. All of them are terrific.
