What was the last game you finished?

I'm like all puffed up and impressed with myself because I finished Kingdom Hearts 1. In standard mode. While constantly abusing state saves. Which sounds really unimpressive, but it's an achievement for me, so

Gone Home. It's a point and click simulator that at first glance looks like you're exploring a haunted mansion. But the game is actually more of an exercise in narrative fiction. Telling the story of
two teenage girls falling in love. It's very sweet.

Finished A Link Between Worlds. Super fun times. :monster:
Interesting hybrid between a sequel and a remake.

Finally finished GTA V. I really enjoyed the game and appreciated the character conflicts over previous installments. It just felt really well rounded.
This.

Finally finished it 18 months after acquiring and starting it. :monster:

I really enjoyed it and there's no way I couldn't choose choice C. Despite how fucked up Michael and Trevor are, they're just as bad as each other for completely different reasons. And obviously, Franklin is in the middle of it. Whilst not memorable as the other two, I could see the intention of putting him there in the first place.

Can't wait to carry on with all the side activies now. :awesome:

The side-activities are boring as fuck, although I think I did a fair chunk of them during the main thing. There was just some jumping out of planes and shit left (which was hard, boo :( )

Some of the Strangers and Freaks are quite hilarious, but I do agree with most of the side stuff.

And the final mission was anticlimactic, boring and easy as fuck.
I'd agree with the first and last part, but not entirely boring. Perhaps it wasn't as exciting as some of the heist missions, but I quite enjoyed those last few moments.

The payout is obviously the best post-game. :awesome:

I can maek poast! I just finished Max Payne 3. As a stand-alone action game, it's pretty solid; the storyline becomes less lame later on in the game (
2/3rds of the game is Max trying to rescue people nobody really likes
), the combat actually gets better in the last bit of the game - probably intentional, the enemies take like two dozen bullets to die unless you go into bullet time and shoot them in the face. There's a few bits that are kinda frustrating, i.e. when you're faced with two dozen enemies and you're out of bullets, and in the end some dude with invulnerable armor and a machine gun shows up. IDK how I beat him finally, I just shot at his face and that was it, eventually). TL;DR, could use some more balance in terms of where you shoot. Then again, Max gets shot a few hundred times and doesn't die thanks to magic painkillers, :monster:. I still don't think it's a Max Payne game storyline-wise though, there's really no connection whatsoever to the previous game other than a bad case of alcoholism that magically gets cured halfway through the game and a scene or two with the shitty tie, which IMHO is a shame. But whatever.

Red Dead Redemption, bought it at the same time I did MP3, probably a sale. It's a decent game, mostly solid gameplay, good environments, excellent voice acting, etc. It gets a bit tedious though, at least for me, where you end up grinding through quests and have to listen to the same lines in slightly different wordings over and over and over again (you're looking for Williamson or whoever, WE GET IT ALREADY GEEZ).

To the Moon. I played it from start to finish in about four hours last night.

It's arguably more of an interactive story than a game, and it might actually be better as a non-interactive story, since the gameplay is very simplistic and feels clunky at times. It's really a testament to the strength of the story that I loved it regardless.

I laughed a lot and I cried even more. Considering I paid just 1,99€ to get it, the game probably has the best emotion-to-price ratio of any game I've ever played - excluding games I didn't pay anything for, of course, since dividing by zero isn't really a good idea.

I just beat Gundam Breaker 2!

...Well technically I beat it a while ago, but I beat it again to help some low level online players clear the mission for it to get stronger.

Some of the higher missions are hard if you don't level up your BBR and don't have the right builds.

Just beat Assassin's Creed Freedom Cry for PS4. I've completed it before on PS3, but forgot how great the story is and it's a shame it's not that long. Still, I liked playing as Ade for a change. :awesome:

Finished Wolfenstein: The New Order on PC yesterday. I thought it was generally enjoyable, and I loved its great alternative history setting. Amazing voice acting too; I loved that the cast consisted of actual Germans, Polish, etc. voice actors, instead of having an all American cast imitating various accents :)

However, I thought that the game could have used the rest of the resistance members some more. Just about every level was BJ Blascowiz going in solo while the rest hung back at HQ. I really would have liked to have more teamwork between the group in the field. I also thought that the last couple of levels, which consisted of shooting every single thing that moved, were kind of a letdown, especially since I'd been enjoying the freedom to choose whether to go in quiet or loud in the previous levels.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney on the Nintendo DS. Not for the first time, but it had been so long since I last played that I had forgotten what to do in most of the cases.

The game has many flaws and irritations but it still, somehow, manages to be immensely enjoyable. It might be the same reason I love L.A. Noire: both games actually make me think about what has happened (and what's likely to happen) in the story, rather than just letting me carry on even if I haven't understood anything. It pleases the logician in me. :)

I'll probably try and play the sequels this summer as well. I'm not sure if I ever finished them before.

Finally finished Dying Light. Overall, I definitely enjoyed it a lot more than the Dead Islands. Yeah, the predictable storyline is nothing to write home about (but that's never the point of these games) as the parkour aspect was utilised pretty well and I had a lot of fun running, jumping and zombie slashing around the game world. I thought that the introduction of the night aspect and the Volatiles was really good, though I wish they weren't quite so tough so as to give you more of an incentive to play at night.

I wish that that crafting aspect was more extensive though. It feels too much of the same old. I would love to see a lot more weirder or unique customizations and special weapons rather than the usual fare.

But yeah, a really enjoyable game.

Just finished Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons on PS4 and played it through to the end for the very first time. I can finally see how it won its BAFTA and now I'm on the verge of tears, which isn't a common occurrence whether it be playing a game, or watching a film/TV show. Well done, 505 Games. Very well done indeed.

Not so much as your typical 100 hours or so game, but just finished playing the demo of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection. The level you had of the second game is visually stunning, I'm not sure if I'll be able to play the PS3 version now. :awesome:
