Where Did Cloud Get the Fusion Swords?

And now after extreme internet surfing to find the answers you've been waiting for.

Sephiroth's masamune: Purchased on eBay (bc he's lazy)

Genesis's Rapier: Rich parents bought it at a weapns convention

Angeal's Buster Sword: Bought for him by mommy and daddy at a neighbors garage sale

Cloud's fushion sword: Built from Steel legos. That explains the fushion part right?

Note: for anyone who might actually find this retarded. it was meant to be.

I always thought that Angeal's sword was specially made for him when he decided to join SOLDIER.

I'm sure that in a world where swords and gunarms and other weaponry are commonplace, it wouldn't be too difficult to find a weaponsmaker who can do custom work. And if Cloud did his own mods on his bike, he would have incorporated the sword designs into his mods - and perhaps the other way around, too. Design the swords so that they fit into the bike mods...

What exactly is the point of them fitting into each other apart from being cool? If they make the sword better/more powerful, than why do they come apart? :monster:

In swords, mass is important in certain instances. Each extra sword added adds mass, allowing for deadlier blow at the expense of ease of use and reaction time. What the swords allow Cloud to do is mix and match and change styles at a moment's notice. It's impossible IRL, but it is a clever idea.

that was going to be my theory on that too. At first I was like Cloud only has two arms so wtf? But it kind of makes sense. And I just like how it takes the buster swords form when assembled.

Wasn't the fact that they came apart and could be used seperately essential for his use of Omnislash at the end of ACC?

Well yes but that's working backwards, lol. I doubt he had the move in mind when he got them. (Yes yes, the creators might have, but we're talking in-universe)

Hm... I'm not sure. He's quite aware of what he can do, and I'm sure he would know that the possibility of using that move might come up at some point in time, so why not integrate that into the making of a new weapon?

Then again, having six different weapons available at all times makes for a much more versatile fighting style.

This is true as Cloud showed that when he fought Kadaj the last time. And I thought it was kind of cool when Cloud was whipping out two blades at Sephiroth during the Shinra building collapsing. You know what I'm talking about right? That was sick, but technically I think a lot of the FFVII facts or at least the little ones like this are made to make us think and wonder. Maybe that's why we enjoy it so much or at least one of the reasons I think.

The 'two swords against one' part of ACC is one of my favorite parts of that entire fight. Fast paced, *extremely* focused, hard-hitting, it made my heart sing when I saw it! It's a real showpiece, that bit.

*hearts it*

You speak the truth there my friend. I thought I was going to lose my pants when that happened. I think it was so cool how they made all the fight scenes like that. I mean, you think about the original FFVII game and how it was the wait and attack system and then you see that and it's like :applause:

I've re-watched that scene so often, I think I know it in my sleep. It's even more awesome if you watch it frame by frame. Totally blew me away!

Sometimes, when I need a little pick-me-up, I load the film and just watch that sequence. I feel *much* better afterwards, it's so great! ^___^

Yeah, I like to watch it in AMVs also. I've been doing a lot of that this weekend. I'm just glad they included that scene and added another amazing scene where Cloud gets bloodied up in ACC.

I remember watching the original AC and thinking that Cloud had gotten off lightly for a fight of such epic proportions. But when I saw ACC I was like "yes! This is more like it!" It made the whole situation much more dramatic, I think. Epic, truly epic.

I have to agree with you one hundred percent. I mean, the scene where Sephiroth could have killed Cloud and all the blood was practically pouring out of him was too awsome. It was awe inspiring ya know?

Ravensilver

Definitely! And when Cloud plucks himself up and just *goes* for it! Whenever I see that, I want to punch the next person who says that Cloud's just a whimp... *grrrr*

If by "a moment" you mean the entire fight, then we are actually in agreement. :awesome:

For real, though, everything he says from "I've thought of a gift for you" to "Give me the pleasure of taking it away" is a single thought process. That tells me -- as if the series of non-instant kill wounds he delivered on Cloud weren't enough -- that he never intended to kill Cloud until he'd said that. :monster:

I don't think I ever said this before but I define the difference between "taking a fight seriously" and "just screwing around" as how you treat an opening where the opponent can't block. Cloud took it for all it was worth, hacking away over and over, going directly for an instant finish. Sephiroth gloated, attacked vital -- but not instant-death -- spots, and then gloated again.

That to me means that Cloud was taking the fight seriously and Sephiroth was just fucking around. I suppose the degree of desperation expressed is a primary indication for me of how to label a combatant's effort.
