Apparently you can now buy/download/install it from Blizzard, btw, so that you can play exactly 1 minute after it's released.

In other words, so you can be the first person to lag so hard your game crashes.

TBH I bought WotLK on release night, and the lag wasn't that bad when I got to Northrend.

In Stormwind however...ERK. took me like 20 minutes to get from the Inn to the boat.

Yeah, as long as you have the foresight to get yourself out of the major cities before hand you'd probably be okay. I remember getting BC on launch day and crashing several times before I finally managed to get out of Ogrimmar.

I think I'm going to log in Dalaran right before Cata comes out so that way I'm there when I log in after the launch.

Well, I renewed my account today.

...I feel slightly disgusted with myself, tbh. But dammit, world events every day for the month leading up to Cataclysm and all the new lore and gameplay - including some of the Icecrown stuff I never got around to - has piqued my interest enough that I'll be forking over 15$ for a couple of months.

PvP servers are amazing, gank wars outside ICC when everyone's waiting for raids to start

It's usually not that bad, Tennyo. You might get killed once every now and then by random players, and rarely you'll get some asshole who comes and camps your corpse for an hour, but it's totally worth the fun that is world PvP.

Plus, once you hit 80, you can go camp out lowbies in Stranglethorn Vale.

Also, so I actually got around to playing on my shaman (my main) today for the first time since January. I've been primarily resto specced for as long as I can remember, and I went into momentary shock when I realized there is NO MORE MP5.

I mean, what stat am I supposed to whore myself out to now? Spirit? SPIRIT IS FOR PRIESTS. FUCKKKKKK I HATE CHANGE.

But anyways, did a little bit of PvP and got my ass handed to me repeatedly because even in full epics that used to be considered pretty good I'm now fucking squishy compared to pretty much everyone.

That said, I like how they've redone the talents and the glyph system, and the random earthquakes and preaching doomsayers in the major cities.

Well now that does sound fun.

It's usually not that bad, Tennyo. You might get killed once every now and then by random players, and rarely you'll get some asshole who comes and camps your corpse for an hour, but it's totally worth the fun that is world PvP.

Lucky for me I can usually get away from jerks who camp my corpse. Just blink + invisibility + run like hell + mount immediately when invisibility fades = escape!

Unless it's a Death Knight. It's harder to escape from them. :/

I once did this to someone in Mulgore. During the Midsummer festival I went to Thunder Bluff to steal their flame. I jumped off the side (mages can float), and there was a level 34 Tauren down there who came up to me and attacked. I kind of just stood there for a while since he wasn't doing any damage, and when he didn't go away I killed him. And then when he rez'd I killed him again. And then after that I chased him around a bit. lol

Apparently last week mages were kicking ass up and down.

Unfortunately I spent all last week downloading the 4.0.1 patch because my connection hates me.

Yeah this is fun. I already did all the quests for them.

I must say I'm kind of sad to leave Northrend. I'm not ready!!!!

It's not that bad actually, considering 99% of everyone's at level 80 already and spamming 'LFG!' in neutral areas like Dalaran.

This is also why I think WoW is fail - hardly any players. This'll be a bit better when Cata comes out, but only for a short period.

This is also why LotRO appealed to me at first - there's actual people running around. Of course, a bit later I found out it follows the grind formula to the letter (first quest you get after the initial instance quest is 'kill eight wolves', go figure), so then it sucked. Still, it had people playing and running around doing the same quests I did. I even played with another guy for a quest or two - it's been years since I last did that, during my first encounter with WoW.

Also, two level 50+ dudes tried to raep my 60 tankadin a while ago while I was checking something. Killed them both with a proverbial flick of the wrist. That was pretty good, lol.

I quite like the reorganized spells and talents and stuff tbh, makes things much less complex for paladins at least. But that's probably the last time I played WoW on the official servers, I really don't enjoy the game as much as I should after all.

Barely any players? Try moving in dalaran at peak times on a full server... I have a top spec alienware laptop and can barely move.
