Wreck It Ralph

I saw it last Monday, and I loved it! Very well done. The cameos were perfectly handled, the story was engaging, etc.

Also, I thought the credit roll Sugar Rush song was fantastic, in that it fit the sugar Jpop theme of that game :P

...This movie won't be shown in Swedish theatres until February next year. WTF. WTF?!!!

Same here in the UK. What a crock of shit

Whaa? I can understand slight delays, such as the UK getting Skyfall before the US, but months for an animated movie? If it was just for the non-English speaking countries, it might possibly have some sort of justifiable reason (translations/etc, although I would still have a hard time believing it would take that long to do even that), but it's also the UK, so....??

Probably BS reasons; local distributors, translations/subtitles/dubs, and the movie companies being anal and apparently unable to upgrade to this century.

I mean seriously, a hundred years of TV and movie history and they still can't get distribution streamlined? This applies to both movies and TV shows btw; I don't get why they don't simply sell the rights to TV shows to other countries right off the bat. Exclusivity is a non-issue, too, seeing that, for example, we can't get the American HBO over here (although they recently started HBO over here, but still, that's not valid for previous series that took months if not years until they were aired by local TV channels. Long after people that want to watch pirated that shit, off course).

Of all the possible days, this is the. Worst. Possible. Day!

Seriously though, 25th of December? HAHA, like someone's going to the cinema on that day, in Spain

idk about anywhere else in the world, but Christmas is a huge business day for movie theatres in the West.

I should know ;_;

Christmas is celebrated mainly on the 25th, in Spain. It's true that a lot of people are not working on that they and so they could theoretically go to the cinema. But most people just end up having a long lunch with their families, etc. And since 26th is not a holiday, people wouldn't go late on the 25th.

If anything, the good "business" day in Spain would be the 24th.

So, went and saw this film tonight with my adoptive little sister. It was her second time, and she wanted to see it again with me because it reminded her of how we get along, and how I'd helped her.

The movie was very well done, the genuine references and the fake ones fit together seamlessly, and I'm planning on checking to see if a few characters are actually real later. I liked how Bison/ Vega was the one to mention 'Going Turbo,' given his particular ignomy in his own series Turbo game.

I liked how Ralph went from wanting to be seen as a Hero to actually wanting to BE the hero instead, and how Vanellope's plight made him realize that as a mirror of his own.

The revelation of who the villain was was rather obvious, in the end, since you set up a Checkov like that and don't fire it.

There was one major plot hole I noticed, but it's something you can generally overlook.
Felix's Hammer. It fixes things. It can fix Felix. No one thought to try and fix Ven with it? A throwaway about how she's not broken but changed, or not being able to fix glitches would have sufficed.

Lastly, Ralph is Donkey Kong. Ven is his sidekick with a racing game.
Give us Wreckit Ralph Country already!

That was one of my favorite parts. Until they explained what "going Turbo" meant, I kind of thought that was the full extent of the joke. :monster:

That was just a cover story, what the joke really meant was that he used to be a Turbo Power Ranger.

Went out to see a movie for the first time in forever, and we went to see this one. I thought the premise was original, which is getting harder and harder to do these days and the story was actually good. *sigh* It's movies like this that prove I'm still very much a kid at heart. Ok, and I really want that hammer.

Finally saw it, my childhood and nerd side came together and it was awesome. Only have one minor complain
I wish a little more time was spent on other places than Sugar Rush.

That would be my one complaint too, but I can think of quite a few reasons they would stay in one game. For one thing, it's less artistic material to come up with, for another, if the movie kept jumping around between too many games, it could get confusing, especially as the movie has to establish so much world-building stuff as it is. I could see them going to a lot more different games in a sequel as we already know what's going on.

The Felix/Calhune (is that how you spell her name?) romance was cute. I'd like to see how that works out in a sequel.

Yeah I know what you mean, I just wished they would've spent more time in say Hero's Duty before jumping into Sugar's Rush.
