Young Justice: S3 COMING JAN 4TH!!

I'm wondering that The Light's reason for keeping the original Roy was when they were cleaning out everything, like Project Match. Obviously there's a tie-in to what's happening now, but there's obviously a plan they they have tied to him, and I haven't the faintest idea what it would be, unless it's just a tool for emotional control over Red Arrow.

(I'm not that amazing with my DC Universe history, but original Roy is missing his right arm when we see him in the tank, which might mean that Prometheus is involved. Maybe he's the shadowy "Partner" everyone's been referring to).

X :neo:

I don't think so the "The Partner" and "Kroloteans' Competitor" are part of the same entity which is likely The Reach, so I doubt it is anyone not-related to The Reach.

I wonder if Blue Beetle having been connected to the Appellaxian golem while it died will have any lasting effects on him? I thought that scene was actually pretty tragic.

Some interesting new information Greg Weisman clarified/revealed about Martians in Earth-16: http://www.s8.org/gargoyles/askgreg/search.php?qid=15057
Anonymous writes...
Do Green and Red Martians 'true/natural' form look like Miss Martians?
Greg responds...
Pretty much. I don't want to say all Martians look alike, but frankly to a human they probably would. Even distinguishing males from females would be tough to the untrained human eye. (Then again to the untrained Martian eye, I'm sure all humans tend to look alike too.) If you saw J'onn's true form, the obvious main differences between him and M'gann are that J'onn's green and bigger.
The only real difference between Green, White and Red Martians is skin color - which is a pretty superficial difference, of course, genetically, but a significant difference historically and culturally on Mars.
Of course, on Mars-16, the White Martians aren't a separate species - and they're only a different "race" if you are using the word "race" the way we Earthlings do to distinguish Caucasians from Africans from Asians. And certainly, the White Martians are not monolithically evil.
Oh, and for the record: M'gann IS J'onn's niece. She didn't lie about that. M'gann's mom (i.e. J'onn's sister) is green. Her dad is white. Most of M'gann's siblings are also green, though she has one white brother.
Wow, why did I suddenly give all that away?
Pretty interesting information. On Earth-16 the different Martians races are actually just races, unlike in the main comics where they were treated as separate sub-species.

Today's episode was great. Awesome girl power episode and all four girls got their moment to shine. Cool how we got an episode that all but showed domestic abuse on-screen. If Tai does become Apache Chief/Longshadow that would be pretty cool as well. Loved Jaime's banter with the Scarab, who is constantly going "kill him/her/it!". Did anyone notice how the Biaylan site's glyphs had a huge Scarab on a wall? Wonder what the Competitor/Partner/Reach want with all the kids?

This episode was easily one of my favorites so far. The overarching plot is getting to be pretty intense.

Here's to hoping he can crash the mode. Also- what'll happen with real Roy being back?

-Jason Marsden being typecast as boys who come from end-time scenarios?

-Welp, they missed a chance
to kill off Barry. Guess Wally will become the Flash next season.

-And Peter David got to throw all sorts of future words around nobody understands. Oh shock!

Also, did anyone else watch this episode twice? When I did I noticed that all of his faux slang about "Crash" & "Mode" made a ton of sense, given
by crashing the current timeline that ends with massive destruction, to bring about a better one. This involves stopping the "Mode" that is being tested by the Kroloteans to control Neutron, and assumedly will be used on others and brings about the apocalyptic events.

Actually the beings in the shadows in this episode were not the Kroloteans but the Partners/Competitors (who are most likely The Reach from the Blue Beetle comics, with likely specifically the Black Beetle as one of their operatives). The Kroloteans were studying the Meta-gene but they were not behind Neutron.

Ignore the malware warning message you might get, the site is just updating its coding or something.

Lagoon Boy is awesome
Anyways looks like M'gan is impersonating J'onn for a new appearance, meaning the 9 League members (the 6 plus Icon, Hawkman, and Hal Jordan) being off world is likely not public knowledge.
Kaldur gets to have evil father-son bonding time with his Dad!
Well everything is bound to go wrong in this episode.
Surprised real Roy is apparently in the League/Team care already.
I wish Nigel Thornberry had a real life cable news show.

My thoughts on the episode: Definitely the best of the Season so far, and probably IMO the best of the series so far. Totally fell for Artemis' death feint, the episode actually made me believe that Artemis was dead and that Aqualad was evil. The reveal was actually shocking, even if it does follow tropes (but very few shows don't). The reveal made me both glad and a teensy bit disappointed, glad because no one's favorite character is dead/actually evil, slightly disappointed because I would have been really interested in how the Season could have gone if Kaldur's heel-face-turn had been true and Artemis was actually dead. Can't wait to see the potential fallout of Nightwing, Kaldur, Wally, and Artemis keeping this from the Team and League. Still great writing and drama and action all around.

Interesting observation, Nightwing has only been leader for a year, so I guess that means Kaldur has only been in deep cover for a year as well? (and that Tula got killed around that time too?)

The cause of M'gann and Conner breaking up was interesting and remind me of what Zatanna did in Identity Crisis. IMO it is interesting character development and does not make M'gann irredeemable (and the catatonia is not permanent as we saw with Psimon and the Krolotean who went with the League to Rimbor). Can't wait see what happens to Lagoon Boy (still think he gets undeserved hate, he is a funny character IMO).

Before the reveal is completed and Kaldur shows up and then Wally shows up behind him is probably the most tense moment I've ever experienced in the show. While I am a little sad about not having a real betrayal, this deception is far more interesting, and makes Kaldur ever more my favorite character. I also am very curious how everything with Megan and Connor will work out, and I like how it's split everything into different arcs for the two groups.

Update on the production of Young Justice (show and comic) from Greg Weisman himself:
YJ UPDATE
YOUNG JUSTICE/GREG WEISMAN UPDATE
We're going into hiatus for the time being, and since it's been a bit of a while since my last update...
SEASON ONE of YOUNG JUSTICE has all aired, but starting this Saturday and Sunday we'll be airing some reruns, including 119, "Misplaced" as part of Cartoon Network's DC Nation block. Check local listings or cable guides for times. If you jumped aboard with Invasion, and haven't seen these Season One episodes, you'll want to check them out. It's good stuff, I promise.
SEASON TWO of YOUNG JUSTICE: INVASION
*Episodes 201-207 have all aired. (How was "Depths" for a pre-hiatus cliffhanger? Not too shabby, huh?)
*Episodes 208-210 are in the can.
*Episode 211 has been edited and spotted for music and sound effects.
*Episode 212 is being edited.
*Episodes 213-218 are all overseas being animated.
*Episodes 219-220 are also overseas being animated, but we have a few more color models here in Burbank left to complete and approve.
YOUNG JUSTICE COMIC BOOK
*Issues 0-16 are all on the stands, available at comic book stores or online.
*Issue 17 is done. I've already received my comp copies, and if you want a sneak peak this weekend, stop by my signing at Denver Comic Con. (More on this below.)
*Issue 18 is being inked.
*Issue 19 is being pencilled.
*THEN, starting with Issue 20, the book changes titles to YOUNG JUSTICE: INVASION.
*Issues 20-25 are a big story: a six issue mini-series within the series. About 95% of the content is split between December 1st of Season One and five years later on December 1st, JUST before the start of Season Two.
*Issue 20 is scripted and ready for pencilling.
*Issue 21 is being scripted now.
*Issue 22-25 are all loosely plotted.
[All this has required some adjustments. The original plan was to finish all the stories set DURING Season One before rebranding the book. But TPTB at DC understandably decided that since the television show has already been rebranded, we shouldn't wait that long to rebrand the comic. And given that, I wanted to launch the rebranding with a BIG story that featured all - or nearly all - of the Team. So the Green Arrow, Black Canary, Artemis, Red Arrow story (set after episode 114), I originally had planned as a two-parter for issues 20-21 will have to wait. Given enough issues (keep buying those books people!), we'll get to everything eventually - including that Arrow-Family story. The new structure will use our timestamps to allow us to bounce back and forth (even within a single issue) from Season One to Season Two to the gap between seasons and BEYOND...]
Frankly, I think it's going to be VERY exciting. And given that the show is currently in reruns, there's just no better way for a hardcore YJ fan to get his or her new canon YJ fix. So if you don't have it already, go grab issue 16 (available now), which features THREE TALES in one book: mentor/protegee stuff that I think really shows a contrast between the styles of Green Arrow, Flash and Batman, not to mention Artemis, Kid Flash and Robin - while as always filling in a gap between episodes. All canon. All in continuity with the show. 16 ends with a cliffhanger, featuring Mammoth, Shimmer AND KOBRA! So that should lead your right into issue 17 (available very soon) which concludes that two-parter.
DENVER COMIC CON
I'm leaving (ridiculously early) Friday morning for Denver to attend the first annual Denver Comic Con. This thing has a TON of great, amazing guests. (Check it all out here: http://www.denvercomiccon.com/ .) I'm probably the least interesting guy there. But I am going to be quite busy moderating a bunch of panels Saturday and Sunday...

ASK GREG
*Since the show has gone into hiatus - and since I'm over 1200 questions behind here - we will shortly be putting the ASK GREG asking question function on its own hiatus for a while. We may open it BRIEFLY every time a new issue of the comic comes out this summer and/or around San Diego ComicCon. But for the most part, we'll be closed to new questions and comments until the series comes back with new episodes. (And, no, I don't yet know when that will be. That's up to Cartoon Network.)
*I know I haven't answered much recently, but we've just been swamped with post-production and all the fast reworking of the comic book that we had to do. (Plus I've been freelancing a few scripts for some friends over at... well, better not say just yet.)
*Also, I'm more or less going straight from Denver to Ashland, Oregon to enjoy the Oregon Shakespeare Festival with my family. And I'm NOT bringing a computer. (And I don't own a smartphone.) So don't expect any new answers from me for another couple weeks. But I will get to your questions and comments eventually. I always do.
Whew. I think that covers everything!

Also some of the other abducted kids also got their metagene activated, modern versions of Apache Chief/Longshadow (Ty Longshadow from the Beneath episode), El Diablo, and maybe the Wonder Twins? Also the Roy firing the launcher in the trailer is the original Roy Harper, you can see his stump. Wonder if the three-eyed person is Despero?

Despite all the action this was actually a nice "breather episode" that got to give a look at the majority of the team members lives during off mission time. Original Roy becoming Arsenal was pretty cool, though it seems like he might now be willfully allying himself with Luthor (or will in someway be indebted to Luthor) since that arm cannot come with no strings attached. The nod to Jason Todd was pretty cool and Green Arrow's characterization was done really well as well. The bridal shower scene was pretty kickass as well. I do wonder though if Superboy and Wendy Harris are being set up with a romance?
