If you have a video card that supports DXVA, which also means, it can decode AVC codecs then it can. Most new videos cards since early 2008 can. If not, you'll be relying on CPU mostly.

First what CPU do you have? It could be you have other codecs installed that are conflicting with CoreAVC (I'm assuming you installed the latest CoreAVC).
