I don't know, those HD videos on You Tube are pretty darn good.

The HD encoding YouTube uses is still considerably worst in comparison to a regular 720 video releases on the net. 1080 would be even more awesome, assuming it has the right amount of bitrate

I feel like I'm right on the cusp of getting it to work. I updated VLC and deleted some unused stuff off my desktop. I also close all the programs. It got better but it still lags a bit. :/

Hey what about a .mp4 file? What is the difference in that? That might have been the file extension for the Jump Festa trailer.

Play the file, then run taskman.

If CPU is 100%, then there's nothing you can do. Your processor can't handle 1080p. I had CCCP and CoreAVC and the problem really was just that my processor (1.7GHz) just couldn't handle it.

But it's not the end of the world. There 's always 720.

Oh yeah you have a MAC. My best suggestion is boot up in Windows lol I'm really not good with MAC. Might have to ask around www.doom9.org for help to play stuff. But your specs are good enough.

Sorry, I've tried in the past, but always failed. I managed to get subs out into a PDF but didn't really help my cause lol Ask on www.doom9.org I'm sure someone there will know exactly what to do.

On another note. I might be able to get some actual 1080p footage of the FFXIII demo; or at least some decent 720p captures. I've manage to snag a HDPVR to borrow.

Well none of the Windows computers in my house will be able to handle 1080p, I can tell you that much right now. Heck I don't even know if the one that's mine will even be able to handle 720p. And I'm certainly not paying to be able to dual run it on my laptop.

I inquired about it on a Mac Forum so we'll just have to wait and see.

I tried to download and play the trailer you posted in another thread, but the video lagged. My friend's computer had the audio lag. Also the CPU went very close to 100%. ._.;

720p should work fine though

Not entirely rely on CPU... but if ur CPU can't handle playing the file, the videocodecs/etc wouldn't really help.

If you have a video card that supports DXVA, which also means, it can decode AVC codecs then it can. Most new videos cards since early 2008 can. If not, you'll be relying on CPU mostly.

Yes you can use your video card to decode the video. Simply download Media Player Classic Home Cinema. I'm sure google can help you find a download.
