Least favourite part of fave games:

VII: Corel Prison, just because the first two times I played it (several years apart) I never noticed/forgot that you could go right along the chasm to get to Dyne's, so I would spend hours trying to run through the desert and running around the prison trying to figure out what the fuck I was supposed to do. I don't mind it anymore, but that mindless rage from spending hours of my childhood running through that fucking desert has never completely faded.

Also, the fight against...Corneo's pet (R...something? Rapture?) in Wutai when you have no materia. Yuffie is my favourite character, but I'm always muttering awful things about her and her mother when I'm in that fight.

And in general, just all the grinding you have to do. But I can say that about lots of FFs.

Tactics: Final boss battle against Ultema. Extremely anti-climatic, I think it took me less than 30 seconds to kill her. The music is sick though.

Also the lack of OveliaxAgrias fanfiction :awesome:

I'm with YACCBS: Desert scene=terrible. Got lost in it more than once, had to get rescued by random guy in chocobo driven carriage. What's up with that guy anyway? The enemies are annoying, especially the guys that rob you (I hate that shit so much). And that random NPC that insists on following you if you talk to him.

VIII: Oh man, this guy has flare! It's an awesome magic, I need to get it.
Me: Draw 2 flares
...
Draw 4 flares
...
Draw three flares
...
Draw 0 flares

FUUUUUUUUUUUu

Also I don't remember this game too well, but I recall Ragnarok being an especially big pain in my ass. It also is where Rinoa wakes up from her coma. Too bad because her being unconscious was an upgrade for her.

FFIX: I just completed this part, the underground paths to the outer continent. The one you got to feed the big bugs with flowers and flip the switches. And every enemy inflicts trouble on you ughhhhhh

so much rage.

FFX: The first blitzball tournament. It convinced me never to play that damned game, and it's worse because the guys that beat you are douchebags.

FFXII: There were a lot of longwinded levels imo. But the worst was the desert level where those little midget things attack you. Desert levels ugh.

FFXIII: Everytime Snow opened his mouth. Oh, and I hated the ark.

Nothing stands out for me for IV, VI, or CC.

FFIV: The delta sisters just murdered me no matter how much level grinding I did. It was the first time I ever broke and looked up the answer online.

FFVII: Yes, the desert scene. The Wall Market scene also bothers me a lot, because you could EASILY bust in there, considering you can charge through the front door of Shinra HQ mere hours later. It needed more exposition.

FFVIII: The Squall/Rinoa romance grew on me, but had way too much unneccesary tension. The worst would be that concert scene in FH. Squall tries to backhand her. Rinoa pushed him off a wall and thinks it's cute. And then she freaking doesn't stop bothering him and he stands there like an idiot. They were both so infuriating in that scene.

FFIX: Yeah, Fossil Roo is a pain in the ass. Also, that part when that stupid car thing is chasing you and you have to dodge swinging axes. In theory: sweet minigame. In practice: infuriating.

FFX: Every time Tidus, Wakka, Rikku, Yuna or Seymour opens his/her mouth.

FFIV - Getting the Crystal from the Dark Elf.

FFVI - Going through The Fanatic's tower. Don't know why, never liked it that much.

FFVII - Looking for the Key of the Ancients in my first walkthrough. It took me days to find it.

FFVIII - Going through Esthar to get onboard the Lunatic Pandora.

FFIX - Going through Pandemonium to get to Garland. The music started to annoy me after a while.

FFX - Fight with Seymour in Mt. Gagazet. Loosing a few times to him, I got the impression that long cutscene is long.

FFXII - Exploring the Great Crystal without a map. D:

-----

CC - The aftermath of the Nibelheim Incident up until the final battle.

DOC - The fight with Rosso. Annoying to no end. Seeing her die was quite satisfying.

I was thinking long and hard last night, and not getting not much sleep, because was thinking what could possibly be a least moment within my favourite FF. Loving it so much, and believing that FF6 is such a epic masterpiece that finding a least liked moment, was impossible. I thought about the moments I struggled with most, like the town of ZoZo, the mountain where you first met Sabin and have to blitz in time, Cyan's dream, the tower where you can't use magic, magitek factory, and the floating island...

But, even though I struggled with these parts during the first playthroughs, I still enjoy them, because of the epic music, and story development. Take the floating continent for a example, it took me months to get through that thing, but I still enjoy that part ?
Why ? Because of the awesome music, and the feeling that it gives you, "could this be the final showdown...."??

It really works well with the players emotions.... but then, I jumped while I remembered the Phoenix cave...then I realized that I hate that part, even though it's important to Locke's story, a character that I love to death... the dungeon, is still painful. It's long, you get into fights every couple of minutes, or like every step, and it's forgettable, it took hours to remember it. ZoZo, the floating Island... you remember them, and they made the action and storyline exciting, but the phoenix cave, even though it leads to one of the most saddest moments in FF history, and one of the big reasons why I prefer FF6 over FF7...

The dungeon, no... I dislike going there, it's long and boring, and if you treated this like FF8 or FF7 and just picked a handful of characters you liked, and ignored the rest, thinking they'll be fine, just being ignored. No, you're screwed... you can't survive this dungeon, unless you've given most of the characters, a fair treatment...
which is a fair amount of extra leveling, and it makes things a little more confusing, it makes you think more, who to favor and who to ignore, can I ignore ?!?

So yeah, least favourite moment of my fav FF game, the phoenix cave. Sorry Locke, I still love you though <3

Least Favorite Parts:
FFVII - Fort Condor. UGH I HATE IT. It's just plain annoying, and not really any fun at all.

FFVIII - Any Rinoa rescue mission.. so yeah most of the game.

FFX - Any time Seymour was a complete BITCH. Like on Mt Gagazet for some reason that was really difficult for me. Oh, and the Sky Dragon... what was it called, Evrae?

FFXII - THE FEYWOOD

My least favourite parts always have to do with Guide Dang It shit. Like the fact that you have to wait for Shadow on the Floating Continent (although at least I've always known about that from the first time I played the game; luckily I was warned) or the chests that contain better items if you wait until later in the game to open them. I also don't like the fact that you lose Speed stat bonuses forever if you "upgrade" Odin to Raiden, and I don't like having to choose between the Ragnarok esper and the Ragnarok sword. So basically stuff that you can lose forever due to carelessness and choices that force you to choose between two items bother me.

I know it was optional but I wanted that goddamn sword you get at the end of it. But holy shit every single time I don't even bother trying to figure it out myself. It's straight to the walk-through for me. I just cannot take it one bit.

That is really the only thing that stands out. I find it so infuriating.

FFVII: I agree about Fort Condor; that mini-game is so boring that I start it, go off and make a cup of tea while my army is slaughtered, and then fight the boss. I wish there was an option where we could skip the battle on the hillside and go straight to the main event.

Least favourite part of VIII was the draw system.

FFVIII: The draw system.

And like Tiff said, any time you have to rescue Rinoa. But the sorceress assassination event takes the cake for the levels of stupid involved (Why would you think your stupid bracelet plan would be better than one conjured by professionals? Irvine, if you always crack up under situations like this, why don't you tell somebody about it and have someone else do the job? gg, bro. And Quistis, honey, I like you but why couldn't you apologize to her until after the goddamned mission?).

FFX: I hated the chocobos in this game so much. The Remiem racing was kind of irritating. But after going through all that shit to get Tidus' sigil, I wanted to go to a fucking KFC and eat chicken. >/

Also found the thunder plains annoying (198...199-FUCK WHY DID I BLINK &%%#$!!) And when I'm not raging while trying to get Lulu's Sigil, it's still annoying to get hit by lightning while trying to pass through.

Anytime Wakka said something retarded, which was like... a ton of times.

Tactics: Riovanes Castle. Damn it Rapha, stop being a derp by charging blindly at the assassins and getting yourself killed. :@

FFVII: I like the event of getting the tiny bronco (because you get Cid) but afterwards, I hated that damn pink thing. It was horrible to travel in, it didn't go to a lot of places easily like I thought it would (which begs the question why Shinra wanted it anyway if it was God-awful?!), and you only use it for a short amount of time. I would understand the trouble to get it if we could keep it long and kinda upgrade it as we go along, but that didn't happen. It was just useless.

FFVIII: Everytime Rinoa got screentime :awesome: The draw and junction system. :monster:

FFX: OH GOD, GETTING EVERYBODY SIGILS! ESPECIALLY TIDUS AND THOSE DAMN BIRDS! Since I'm a completest, I wanted to get everybody's ultimate weapon but after experiencing all that crap, I think this is the only game where I don't want to go through all that trouble to have a complete collection. Speaking of...

FFIII: Yeah, this is after ten, but it's also concerning completion. For the DS version, in order to get the ultimate weapon/accessory of that job class, you have to level it up to 99, for all 23 jobs. I'm not even halfway through but it became boring quickly. >_< It's a shame because I like that game too. lol, I'm still gonna do it though! :awesome:

FFXII: Getting/reading a guide so I can get everybody's weapons, and then finding out that those special trinkets from those big missions were for special weapons; but it turns out I've been selling them at the wrong time. I had to make sure I sold each item next to one another so that I would get it, AND NOW I HAD TO FIGHT TONS OF MONSTER TO GET THAT RARE GEM AGAIN! FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!

Day 8: Favourite chocobo theme:

FFX's Brass the Chocobo, can't resist a good swingin' beat. VII's Fiddle de Chocobo would take second place, as soon as I got a hawkstrider in WoW I modified the soundtrack so FdC would play every time I mounted :awesome:

Also really like IX's, and Waltz de Chocobo gets special mention because I still remember how awesome it was the first time I saw those chocobos dancing.

Cinco de Chocobo, almost certainly. I love the fact that it's an homage to Dave Brubeck's "Take Five." That said, there are plenty of great chocobo themes and if there weren't an homage to classic jazz I wouldn't be able to pick one. The alternate "Techno de Chocobo" on the Final Fantasy VI Special Tracks is also quite good, as are "Milan de Chocobo" from Final Fantasy VI Grand Finale, "Waltz de Chocobo," "Electric de Chocobo" (I like the homage to surf music), "Aloha de Chocobo," and "Ukulele de Chocobo." Honestly, though, most of the chocobo themes are interesting, and even this isn't an exhaustive list.

Day 08's supposed to be a pick of your favorite incarnation of the chocobos themselves, but after YACCBS and Aaron's posts, I think this is turning out to be as interesting. :monster:

Maybe we should all post our favorite versions of the chocobos and the chocobo theme for Day 08? I think that's what I'm going to do tomorrow when my turn to pick a chocobo comes up.

Oh, that's what I get for relying on other people's answers and not reading the original poast. I like the black chocobos because they can fly. :awesome:

Woops, my bad. I thought by Chocobo version they meant theme, not the actual chocobo. xD In that case, Red Chocobos from Tactics.

HOLY SHIT METEORS EVERYWHERE

(For yesterday, I find the Great Glacier and Gaia's Cliffs incredibly tedious. Disc 2 is so awesome but you have go through that boring slog first.)

Favorite chocobo...the Red Chocobos in Tactics are great when you have them but I HATE fighting them so much that I can't give it to them. Probably the flying black ones.

I have this love-hate thing with the FFVII golden chocobo.

At first I'm like, FUCK YOU GOLDEN CHOCOBO. Spending hours and hours breeding, restarting, racing, praying to different gods, cursing Square Enix's name, just trying to get it.

But then you get the golden chocobo and it's all worth it because Knight of the Round completely destroys everything and now you are invincible. Also you have a better chance of beating the black chocobo racer (Teoh? Joe?), a guy that caused me to rage in my younger years.
