What interested me most in this episode was not just the flash Korra had with Aang, Toph and Sokka (who, is safe to say, are all dead), but how this ties to the beginning of the episode, when that new character Tarlok (sp?) mentioned that Aang had faced another big criminal int he Republic City. I'm betting good money that she saw him, along with the others. When she flashes, we see the close-up of a face we don't know. I suspect it was him.
Which now begs the many-many questions: why? Why did Korra see that? What was the purpose? IS she supposed to learn something from Aang's actions of that time? What is it?
And how. How did she see this? Was it from Aang, trying to reach his next life in order to give her guidance (Aang was such a sweetheart, I'd expect of him to be the one trying to reach Korra to help her)? Is this a sign of the spiritual nature of the Avatar that Korra has to learn as well (and not just the physical)?
Asami... well, I find her gorgeous, but that's it. She's... bland as a personality right now. Of course, that's because she has been just introduced and as a fangirl, a means to get the Fire Ferrets in the tournament and a love interest. Which isn't very good for her character, but from an advertisement I saw, she gets into the gang, having adventures with them, so I hope she's fleshed out beyond being just "Mako's crush and a convenience for the Fire Ferrets".
Also, I love how opposites these girls are. Korra is a tomboy, Asami is graceful. Korra doesn't know a thing about city life, Asami is social like WHOA. I think these two will bounce off each other really well.
Korra has never been one of my faves in the show, but these insecurities and panic in this episode made me like her more. Her flaws leave room for wonderful character development.
