Usergroups - Add New Usergroup

In the top form select "Donators" or whatever it's called then click "Go"

then change <font color="orange"> and </font> or whatever they are to <span class="v"> and </span>. You'll also probably want to deselect the "Viewable on Show Groups" since it'll make a redundant usergroup (it's under Usergroup Options)

then, edit my profile, add "Aaron" (or whatever you've called the group) to my secondary usergroups, submit my profile, then edit my profile again and set it as my display usergroup.

Or you could just set me as tech admin again and save yourself as the trouble

Also, you may want to rename "Donators" to "Donators & Former Staff" since not all of us actually donated cash. then again you'd also have to make a separate usergroup for that if you wanted the titles not to look stupid, so it's probably not worth the effort. (Then again you can follow the same steps for creating a usergroup as I just listed, so it shouldn't take that much time. The ones of us that are former staff are myself, Dacon, Dumb Apple and Pixel, I think).

Oh yeah I forgot to mention how to make the user ranks, which is my fault not yours. Go to "user ranks", select "Add new user rank", set "usergroup" to "Former Staff," Minimum Posts to 0, Stack Rank to Yes, and Display Type to Always, then enter text "<span style="font-color: orange;">Former Staff</span>".

Then you'll also want to move the primary usergroup of the people mentioned above (Myself, I'm Batman, Dumb Apple and Pixel) from the Donators group to Former Staff. If they have Donators as a secondary usergroup it should be unselected since otherwise, unless I'm mistaken, both ranks would display. Which would be kind of daft. (It's possible that it's set to "Display Only If Displaygroup = This Group," but I doubt that's the case since Munky, Pixel, S and G and myself all seem to have other displaygroups set and still have the donator title currently).

Come to think of it, Former Staff should also be its own category on showgroups, so go to edit usergroups, edit the Former Staff group, and set that to viewable on showgroups.

I went through the permissions and manually set it to be identical to the existing Donator usergroup. I'll do one more check through it, then try again. I thought the settings would have been automatic after telling it to base them on the other usergroup, but apparently that wasn't the case.

Yeah I wasn't specific enough I guess. First of all, there are two "create usergroup based on" categories, the one at the top sets everything and the second one, which is literally the next line, just sets forum permissions. Also, you have to click a special button for each of those to submit properly; if you click the submit form at the bottom then it submits the defaults. I think you probably selected the second category though because if memory serves correctly I could see the donator's domain when I wasn't in the donators usergroup. We'll find out after everything gets sorted again I guess.

It all looks alright, so I've set your primary usergroup to "Former Staff" with the additional and display groups to "Aaron" (though I should probably check the settings on that one as well), which hopefully will be working now.

You might have gotten there while I was deleting the old 'Aaron' usergroup I replaced the old one with a new one, a duplicate of the Former Staff group (minus the visibility on the former leaders page and with the styling you originally requested).

Though given the mistakes I've made so far, I wouldn't rule out another one

Ah yeah, that makes sense, thanks I think everything's good now, except the former staff rank isn't coloured, but as I'm not even sure people would want it to be the same colour as the donators rank I can't say it's worth worrying about right now. Maybe ask Dacon and Pixel their thoughts, since I don't really care so much what colour it is.

The reason I made such a simple CSS mistake is because I haven't slept since 4pm yesterday due to insomnia. You can easily replace "orange" with the appropriate colour without screwing things up further. #38E897 would match my username colouring, but as I know that's selfish of me you don't have to use that
