Cloud vs Sephiroth

Geez, that was fucking nasty. Saying Sephiroth wasn't trying to kill Cloud as best as he could is bullshit at this point.

Actually, I get the impression he was kinda playing around a bit. I mean, he wasn't slicing him to bits, he was giving him small cuts with his upward slashes bit thingy. And there's the foot / knee thing, but that wouldn't be directly lethal - just very, very painful. Plus he wouldn't be able to walk.

A real samurai would've cut him in three bits within 0.5 seconds, .

Also, set of screenshots is win. They should've made that particular bit VERY slow-motion, . It's a shame really that they decided to make the awesome bits very, very fast.

In any case when Seph dives at him that's probably when he's going for the kill.

I became particulary fond with the scene where Cloud tries to get up and we see Sephiroth up there between the swirling clouds.

That scene has an unexplainable beauty!

Call me twisted, but I just LOVE seeing the hero get beat to a pulp by the villain. Of course I also like to see the hero win, but they have to work for it! XD

I'm watching that scene again, and when Sefiros stabs through his foot to his knee, he slings Cloud to the ground while the sword is still in his leg.

Fuck man.

And if you watch it again, he throws Cloud down on the sharpened end, and Cloud's hand comes off the blade.

That was pretty metal, although the whirring noise when their just holding their blades in the air got annoying after the third watch.

And in a good way, Zack is a cocky douche. I found his little pep talk really funny for some reason. I can see Cloud asking himself just what he has to do to fulfill this guys legacy.

Just that Cloud shouldn't give up no matter how hopeless the situation, and that since Cloud beat Sephiroth before he should be able to do it again no problem.
