Final Fantasy XI is a decent MMO, but lets bullet point why Prishe should not have been added
People want a character from VI and IX
Lightning needs a villain
Why not give XI a villain
what about NES games Leon Minwu from II Xande from III
Another character from a popular game with 3 reps ie Rydia, Vincent, Rinoa, Auron, Rikku, Galuf etc.
Western appealing Characters ie Edgar and Sabin, Vincent, Balthier, Auron
XI is not worthy of a numeral and as noted by others (I'm Batman) has not been widely played and accepted
Who knows who Prishe is

The After Years Ceodore/ X-2 Rikku/ Crisis Core Zack/Genesis
Tactics Ramza is it
KH Sora would piss people off but better then Prishe
What about a Chrono Trigger character, fans of the SNES FF's would like this (Even though it has nothing to do with FF)

I've been saying from the start they needed Eald'narche. They considered him and his brother for a while before they went with Prishe. A horrible waste IMO. However, if Gilgamesh and Prishe are the two secret characters, I suppose it makes an odd sense - as in the original game, we have a secret Chaos rep and a secret Cosmos rep.

When this game comes out, I'm going to plummet Prische with Gilgamesh/Jecht/Golbez until she becomes a rabbit (whatever race she is) pie.

But if they are the last 2 characters, and their secret characters, then that makes Prishe all the more an offensive waste. No Celes/Locke/Edgar/Sabin, really, VI is just as popular as VII, why does VII get a 4th assist character, and VI doesn't even get a character. I mean Vaan was controversial enough, but some people actually like XII and Vaan, I was hoping for Ashe personally.

They could have done a lot better than Vaan sure, but they really could have (and evidently did) done a lot worse.
Also why are all the new additions pretty much all on Cosmos' side? Every game has enough villains and in some cases they are more interesting than the good guys. So why is it that there is one bad guy for each game, with additions like Tifa/Yuna/Laguna/Kain/ all hailing from the good side. It doesn't feel right that they are balancing this out by just adding Terra, Tidus and Cloud to Chaos' side.
They need more REAL villains.

LOL. That would be hilarious, I'd love to see them add Sora just for the hell of it.
That'd ruin the 'canon' of the game though, wouldn't it? Also if they were running low on memory and wanted to go by fans, why add Prishe?! When she was shown, everyone was going: "Who the fuck is dis bitch".... doesn't seem very popular, and her battle style doesn't seem so special either.

Reason: heroes = more popular than their villains. People are far more likely to buy it if Tidus is in it than that blue-headed abomination.
Still, pretty lame that instead of new villains we got good guys to 'switch' sides.
Not to mention it seems like a cop out. Oh, here's the same character, only he fights for Chaos now. Why not include Seifer then? It'll be like Squall switched.

There are also a lot more heroes than villains to choose from. Sure, there are more villains yet, but go ahead and list every Final Fantasy character you can think of, a vast majority of them are heroes. The villains are always outnumbered because they're so larger than life.
How many are really left? Seifer and Beatrix are both viable options. Then there's Seymour, Vayne and Cid Raines, whoop de freakin doo. Who else? There's Rufus and the Turks but we're not allowed to want any more FF7 characters so I don't find myself nearly as shocked and amazed as everyone seems to be that there are more heroes.

They could have easily padded Chaos' side with secondary villains, hell even boss monsters. They don't need to be someone who can spout ridiculous dialogue. Just a fun character to play as, (ala Sentinel in MVC).

On the subject of villains:
FF1 - no one really to include.
FF2 - Leon would work, if they could think of a fighting style
FF3 - Xande, durr hurr
FF4 - No one really, can't have just one Archfiend over the other three in, and compared to Kain there's no way Zemus deserves to get in.
FF5 - GILGAMESH.
FF6 - Unless you wanna get wacky with like, Ultros or Gestahl, I say have Celes in as a villain character in the vein of Golbez and Jecht - on Chaos' side but not truly evil, acting to help the heroes in her own way while serving Chaos.
FF7 - Well there's Rufus and the Turks. I would say no one from the spin-offs though, there's Weiss and Genesis sure but let's stick to the original I say. But no secondary FF7 villain deserved to get in over Tifa.
FF8 - Seifer plzkthxbai, though Laguna was a nice and unexpected choice.

Also, including Eald'narche would let them have the Celestial Nexus as the FF11 arena, and it looks like a far more interesting place for a Dissidia match to take place in than the place they included.

II Leon is the first Dark Knight, make him ruthless
IV Rubicante easily the most humanoid and a fan favorite
IV After Years Rydia, with a Manead pallet swap, add Rydia first obviously
VII Jenova would be nice as a rival to Tifa, give her a voice she never had, Weiss would be good to represent Hojo against Vincent, Genesis hell yeah
IX Garland alt costume for I Garland.

I suggested this on the FFWiki IRC as a joke - the Remnants in with a fighting style similar to the Pokemon Trainer. Kadaj uses swift melee attacks with low power, Yazoo uses long-range gun attacks that hit multiple times, and Loz uses slow but powerful attacks. Press L and R to switch between the remnants during battle. EX Burst is Final Reunion where all three of them gang up on the opponent.

You've got tons of good villains from other games. Leon, Xande, Eight Whole Fiends, Gestahl, General Leo, Rufus, Seifer, Fujin/Raijin, Beatrix, Zorn/Thorn, the Black Waltzes, Brahne, even Steiner could be manipulated, Seymour, Yu Yevon, Five Judges, Vayne, Doctor Cid, the list goes on.
Some of them are lol, but whatever. Hell I would have fun playing as Calabrena or Ultros, or that woman who turns you into a pig from FFIV.
