A) Mako, you can't keep demanding people tell you what a non-Advent-Children-post-FF7 story looks like. We aren't writing the damned thing. After the conflict is over, everybody goes their separate ways. Cloud and Tifa settle in Edge with Marlene and Denzel, where Cloud runs a delivery service and Tifa runs a bar. Sound familiar?

Only this time, they get to live in peace. Jenova? Geostigma? Sephiroth? Deepground? Cloud’s depression over Aerith and Zack? All of that’s been settled during the Remake’s expanded version of the FF7 story. How? Hell if I know. If that’s the devs’ goal, they’ll figure it out. I guess they found a way to scratch Kadaj, Loz, and Yazoo off the list and there’s plenty of time to tackle the rest.

Like, I don’t see how in any way this approach would contradict what the devs have said about the Compilation being the base of Remake when that would still very much be the case here.

As far as I could gather from the devs, the supposed “great” version of Remake wouldn’t exist in the first place because they’d want you to just play the OG lol

It's all good we can agree to disagree. My prediction is that Remake will end in a way that doesn't lead to AC + DOC so we'll see what happens. I'm just getting an overall vibe thats what they're going for.

It's just my own personal prediction I could be wrong and they could just have it so it leads to AC ect so I guess we'll find out eventually.

Although I will admit, the odds of them teaming up in a final battle is greater than 0. It's one of those things that feel sorta likely.

Like a climactic bookend, sorta like how the final boss fight against Sephiroth in Part 1 was a climactic conclusion that went all out in it's action and visual storytelling.

It's quite the story. Months ago, when the modding discord first started, I and a couple of others would use Willem Dafoe as reaction gifs. Pretty soon I saw this weird thing where people would deepfake Dafoe on top of other gifs. I kinda spammed these and while many were annoyed, the admin of the server really like them, so he said Dafoe officially became the mascot of the modding discord. It got so big that someone made a mod that replaced Aerith's face with Dafoe's. This was never released. There was however a seventh heaven mod of Dafoe that was released.

At a certain point, I used faceapp to put Dafoe on all the FFVII characters and uploaded it to tenor so we can have fun using them in the discord. What I didn't know would happen is that the algorithm for tenor prioritized many of the Dafoe gifs because I used FF7 tags before uploading them. This led to many people finding these gifs when trying to search for their favorite characters. Round was one of these people, and they recently, in the TLS Server, asked where all these gifs came from. I told them it was me, which is why I'm replying to their posts with all the Dafoe gifs lol.

I am mostly surprised at how competent and relatively successful the First Soldier game has been. It seems like it’s been able to carve out an unique identity in the ocean of the battle royal genre.

Even if it’s only about 10 minutes, the fact that it’s being advertised by the main twitter gives me some small hope the update on the Remake will be relatively substantial (though I am not expecting any video teaser to be clear).
