I don't want to get into it, because we'll just end up arguing about shit :monster:

Y'all lose faith in things way too easily imo

The mass effect 3 ending sucked donkey balls made from metal with spikes coming out of it. That is non-negotiable satsu.

I'm afraid I disagree, though I respect your opinion all the same.

Although I would agree with the opinion that the original Mass Effect 3 would have been a better game than the one we got.

OT, I very much enjoyed both Dragon Age games. The combat in DA2 was much improved, to me, although I think I like the way the story is presented more in DAO.

Well considering that I still play and love their games I haven't lost faith in Bioware but I no longer stupidly believe that they can do no wrong.

OT - I think the gameplay in DA2 was indeed improved from Origins on consoles the problem was that on PC gamers had a great tactical gameplay for Origins and were stuck with the same one consoles had for DA2.

I got the urge to start a new DA2 playthrough yesterday, gonna try different things I didn't do on previous one and also do the
Templar ending for once.

Oh yeah that's one thing that I sort of started to revise my opinions on - the mages.

Personally I'm starting to feel that mages are more trouble than they're worth. That isn't to say that they need to be exterminated or whatever - the templars running this whole gig are goddamn lyrium junkies, ffs - but I'm definitely starting to lean towards the ideal that mages can't be treated just like regular beings or afforded the exact same freedoms.
Anders' argument with Fenris that you don't have to be a mage to be a murderous psychopath is valid I guess but at the same time a dangerous connection to the Fade isn't something that can be put down, unless you're a fan of lobotomy

Scissored from that other DA thread:
How are you liking the game, now that you've had a bit more time with it?
I'm enjoying it a lot more now. I'm happy that it's not very hard (on Normal) - when having Wynne, that is. Brecilian forest was (almost - those guys who show up when you touch that grave stone being the exception, but I have a feeling you're supposed to do that later - DON'T TELL ME :wacky:) a joke when I had her. And since I took her to Brecilian forest - not mentioning spoilers - before doing Redcliffe (which I'm doing now), Redcliffe is fairly easy too.

I have, of course, fallen for Zevran and his marvelousity, Morrigan is starting to hate me (she only loves me when I threaten priests, it would seem) and I do love Leliana, she's such an underdog. I have problems because I want to use them ALL in my party (Sten!!) but there's just one spot open for free choices since I pretty much always want to keep Morrigan and Wynne in my party. (I keep changing between Leliana and Zevran depending on the situation. I just love Zevran's slow-mo tearing open your enemies throat.)

Anyway I wanted to post is this video. I don't know why but I just love it. (She's done a series of them. Sorry if any of them have been posted before.)

^ She does a fantastic Zevran.

Since reading this post I've decided to re-play Origins, I'm installing it again now. :monster:

^ You should take a look at part 6 as well, her Shale is also really good

(I think my favourite part in the one I posted is when Leliana says 'you are a bad man'. She manages to portray that subtle admiration in Leliana's voice  I love those two talking!)

Also YAY ORIGINS

I need to play again, but there's just too much sun outside these days to waste, I NEED VITAMIN D

Is that a euphemism? :oscar:

Personally, my favorite members of the warden's crew are Morrigan, Leliana, Shale, and Sten (Alistair is okay I suppose). I still haven't figured out whether I prefer romancing Morrigan or Leliana when playing as a dude, though.

Incidentally, I'm really looking forward to the next DA novel!

Leliana is one of those characters that sometimes I really like and sometimes I find her meh, after she's hardened is when I really like her. I contemplated romancing her a few times and I actually did once but most times I just hear Claudia Black's voice and well there goes that plan.

Guys I have a huge problem.

I can't import my Origins save to DAII because my version of Origins is apparently North American wtf?

Googling has not helped me. I'm not playing DAII without importing my save so I'm at an impasse. I have fucked about with saves before and there should be a way to change the region if memory serves, but it takes a really long time ;-;

EDIT: Oh pissbucket, you can't copy Origins saves onto USB. I'm officially fucked. My only option is to get a hold of a physical copy of the NA Dragon Age II, and I've already paid (albeit only £5) for the one from the PS store.

Theoretically I could download the north american version with my north american PSN account, but also I can't because the saves aren't accessible from that profile either.

DAMN YOU POINTLESS REGION PROTECTION

^ That sucks. There's not that much reference to Origins from II though, if that helps - you're referred to as a 'he' or 'she' when slaying the Archdemon, plus what you did to Alistair affects some stuff... I wouldn't be too bothered about it, but heh, that's me. X)

Also, if you played as the human mage in Origins, they're brought up as being related to the new protagonist and their family.

Stores I went to today:

Game Union Street
G-Force Union Street
Fopp Union Street
Missing Argyle Street
Game St. Enoch's Centre
Entertainment Warehouse
WHSmith
Cash Generator

Not only did they not have the US version of DAII - none of them even had DAII AT ALL. And one of them is an import store XD. Oh le sigh, I don't know why I thought going there was a good idea. At least I found mango oil for my oil burner, I've been looking for it for years.

Anyway yeah, I can order the game from the US Amazon and wait or I can play it. I'm not sure what I want to do now. I did play as the human male. I know that Zevran shows up in this game and I want him to refer to the warden because I romanced him <3. I live for the small stuff like that.

Argh.

^ That being said, I romanced Zevran with my warden (enough that they went hiking together) and iirc he didn't make any specific mention of her that I can recall in the DA2 scene AND
he still slept with Isabela
. So, heh.

Also Zevran doesn't look like himself at all. >_>

^ That was one of my biggest annoyances. Zevran looked so ugly compared to Origins. ;-;

No one from Origins looked the same in DA2. This is exchange summed it up:

Isabela, right? You look... different.
Isabela: Don't we all?

Honestly Lex the events of Origins, Awakenings and the DLCs have very little to no effect on DA2. You can play it now with one of the established backgrounds and do the playthrough you'll pass on to Inquisition once you have the physical copy.

I'll probably just use the Keep tbh, Bioware have said it's going to be live prior to Inquisition and that saves me both from spending the money it takes to ship from the US and worrying about the choices I make :D

Bioware are evil bastards.

Male Hawke might be the most attractive male protagonist I've ever seen in a video game (I'm in love a bit... especially with the sarcasmo options) and my only two fucking romance options are Anders who is now magically a twat even though he was awesome in Awakening and Fenris who I'm not a big fan of either.

I mean I've already had sex with all the men in the brothel and flirted with them both, but still. I'm thinking a rival romance might be my only option. Possibly with Anders. Good god I can't stand his whining.

Enjoying the game as a whole so far, very nice, smooth gameplay and somewhere clear to put all the shit in my inventory that I don't need and load screens are very fast and stuff. If Origins had been this smooth I feel like I would prefer it. I do miss a proper world map though.
