Yeah, but he only woke up once, right? So how much experience could he have gotten to dramatically change him the 20 or so years?

That's not the point. He didn't go right to sleep after being experimented on, and he still woke up during BC to held Verdot and the turks find one of the support materia. You can't say he just went into stasis, and he figuratively woke up RIGHT after he was augmented. That's what you're implying and that's not the case. His experiences from his past still aged him, his mind was aware and while he put himself to sleep, he still matured and changed from that experience. He's no longer the young, naive, and youthful turk he once was. His age and experiences has hardened his persona and character. That's also coupled with the fact he's from an era and is clearly out of step with the contemporary world of FFVII now.

Actually that's not quite what I'm saying.

Like, I get that he woke up so many years later after the experimentation. And granted, I haven't played/watched BC vids, but it just seems to me that given the gap in the years he would still be the same old Vincent that he went to sleep as. *shrug*

I'd disagree and say he does. He knows things, only Cait knows, and is clearly able and shown to be able to listen in and see what it sees.

How did Reeve get all the information on DG and Omega, when he sent Cait Sith to Mako Reactor 0? Cait Sith never made it back. Furthermore, it got sucked into Nero's darkness. Unless Reeve was controlling Cait right then and there, and was looking through his eyes, there's no way he'd have gotten all that intel on DG's plans.

Furthermore, how did Reeve know Cait Sith in the Reeve puppet asked for Vincent's help and that Vincent declined? He carried on the plea for help as if he knew what Vincent's answer was before, when he spoke to Cait.

The creators explicitly say Reeve is controlling Cait and has likened him to a puppet master, so I don't see how you can really attribute Cait Sith as more than just an extension of Reeve, the real man.

Yeah but I'm saying that Reeve can disconnect and let Cait be his own 'being' every once in a while. Reeve controls Cait. I know. Reeve can see what Cait sees. I know. Cait can retain information for Reeve to know later. I know. But is this constant? Can Reeve disconnect and Cait do his own thing? Scenes from the Compilation says he can.

I don't know where he got it. Ask him yourself :monster:

It's been mentioned since the FFVII UO and I think even the Dismantled guidebooks as well.

@Notorious M.O.G.

Ahhh, I see what you mean. But I don't think there's an answer to that. But I'd assume more he's in total control and is able to somehow multitask and control Cait and be himself at the same time, than assume that a puppeteer's puppet is somehow cutting the strings and no longer being the puppet. :monster:

I don't know, man. I know the whole 'puppet' thing, but I'm not sure if that's supposed to be taken completely literally. I'd like to believe that Reeve can break his control when needed and let Cait be 'himself' when needed. Reeve is still the Executive of the Urban Committee. He still has a job.

Then how do you explain Cait being able to tell exactly what was happening with Scarlet, Hojo, and Heidegger while it was happening in the board meeting, while Reeve was talking to them and trying to tell them the dangers of using the Mako Cannon until finally Hojo hijacked it and nearly blew Midgar to hell?

By utilizing his special ability, “Inspire”, he is able to cause inorganic things to emit life; his “child”, the “cat”-shaped robot, Cait Sith can be controlled from a great distance.

Wow. They really pulled that out of their proverbials.

You know M.O.G, with the timing of Channy's last post, its as if you attributed the way the topic changed subjects to the fact Reeve can do so when he wants to. :monster:

I see your point, but I think Reeve was quite aware of most of FFVII. I don't think he was just...out of touch and communication.

@Masamune

I suppose so. But that's funny you're just now commenting on it :monster:

And that's why Solid Snake is one of the most popular Japanese characters in America.

Also, to be fair Solid Snake is based on an (several, I believe) American character.

Depends on the female.

In all honesty, I don't find him attractive. And that's what makes me a lesbian.

Well, not so much his face, which is understandable. But it's general for a female (or anyone) to find a relatively muscular, well toned person more attractive than a pasty, skinny guy with a pot belly. If you attached someone else's (think of your fav celeb crush) face on his body, is he any more attractive?

Channy

No.. still not really.

I've actually always been attracted to scrawny tall guys. Muscles on a guy never really did it for me. I can't explain why.. It's quite obvious with the overly muscles bruts cause that's just gross, but even Snake with his nice physique... It just doesn't blow my skirt up.

Ah, well everyone has their preferences.

Growing up, I've always been that tall scrawny guy. It wasn't until high school (and I'm almost done with college) that I started hitting the weights and developing some frame. I dunno, I can't really say I miss being scrawny. Being weak sucks.

Channy

Bad Habit

It's not so bad when guys hit the weights to try and develop a little more frame, but I dunno.. Snake there seems to draw the line for me, if not I prefer a bit scrawnier than that.

I have a sticker on my door that says "I dig scrawny pale guys" :awesome:

edit: no u pond scum

LMAO @ Dacon

Solid Snake is handsome at the least. There's nothing ugly about him and his features and body are quite proportionate and good looking. I don't see how you could deny his looks unless you seriously got something against facial hair and muscles. Let's be fair here, people. :monster:

Sure does fucking suck he's an old man like Big Boss now. I'll never forgive you Kojima. Never.
