So I was drivin in my car the other day and I saw this lady driving a little cart down the street. Usually I think to myself... I wonder why they need a cart... sometimes you can tell like if they are full out paralyzed or something. This time the lady was driving in a cart because she was 500 fucking pounds.

HOW IN THE WORLD DO PEOPLE GET THAT HEAVY?

Wouldn't you one day be like, 'I think I should start eating less.'

I mean, WOULDN"T YOU!?

It freaks me out.

I love food too much and yet I'm as skinny as a twig. I blame fast metabolism.

But yesh they love food and they must EAT and they can't control it. That is why they get so fat. -_-

And after that it becomes, "Oh crud I might die if I don't stop eating, but, nom, nom, nom so good. Must. Eat. Food."

I mean where's the self-control for fuck's sake ? I know that they usually don't have any but they've gotta notice somewhere down the line that they're endangering themselves by ingesting so much crap. :monster:

:wacky: So yeah they need to just be forced to stop eating such crappy foods and then coerced into working out and entering a strict dieting program . . . like Jenny Craig or something.

Seriously, those who are attracted to obese women (men, also?) are sick. What I've seen they force their wife to get bigger, and eat moaaar :@ It's disgusting.

"Honey look at what I got . . . bagels!" Yeah that attitude is NOT cute, that's not even love. People who marry obese women/men and do that are only encouraging that kind of behavior. Then they wonder how their wife/husband ever managed to get to 600 freaking pounds. Uh, maybe it's all those Krispy Kreme donuts that you get them as a form of compensation but your shitty love life. :@

Ah touche.

I think they're on either end of the same spectrum. Encouraging the victim to eat more food or to eat less food only allows them to feel secure in their respectable eating disorder. The right thing to do, would be to give them the proper help and support to lessen the effects of their disorder. :monster:

It IS. Exactly, I think that sometimes most of these people either feel directly responsible for their loved one's wellbeing. By giving them food or disallowing them from eating too much food, they tend to them--nurture them even, in a kind of twisted way. It's a one-sided bargain.

From our standpoint it doesn't constitute as love. It doesn't translate as love to us because it's highly unethical. To them though it does because they're giving them something free of charg. Even if it IS detrimental to that person's health--to them, the fact that this person is addicted to it, the fact that they can feed into that and keep them happy--that's love to them.

Oh gods, that's an almost regular occurrence at my house, watching these documentaries on these people with life-changing addictions.

It's saddening and baffling to see some 200+ lb. 6-year-old getting stuffed with foods high in cholesterol, sugar, calories, and carbohydrates all in the name of omgz!love.

Their parents obviously don't know how to properly provide for their child. If you have to feed your kids five pounds of drumsticks and 3 servings of mashed potatoes smothered in cheese just to make them happy; then there's something really wrong with you in my opinion.

All I know is my own parents don't love me enough to spend more than like $5/day on me for food. Looking at what these kids eat in a day... holy shit. I don't think I could put that much away in a month.

Damn straight, while I do go on some crazy indulgences every now and then, I make sure to pace myself and work it off (though I don't really pack on much weight anyway--it's more for toning then anything else).

I could never ever do that to my own kid, if I had one. Shoving food in their mouth at that rate while putting their health in jeopardy is like issuing them a death sentence.

Oh my, lovely topic

I think the issue here is, well, these people's amount of issues. I have a friend who has been fighting obeisity all her life. She loose weight and gain it back, then loose and gain. She goes on crash diets then quits after two weeks when she realizes she hasn't become skinny yet, even though that is NOT enough time to give yourself to loose a lot of weight!

She also eats to cope with her issues. She bought three packages of pre-cut cookie dough a week or so ago, and we all thought they were for her brother's fiance's bachelor part. But nope she kept them all because the stress of getting ready for the wedding was becoming too much. :/

Some of these people, I think all they need is some psychiatric help. :(
