it's near the beginning of the chapter. I think the second time Aerith goes for a "high five" he reaches a hand to her face, and she says something like "what? oh next time I'll be on the same page" or something like that.

Like seriously, Mako and Jenova cells fucked Cloud's brain up bad.
He literally forgot what a high-five was. All those moments he acted too cool or detached to high-five, were simply his lack of social awareness regarding that action.

i take back what i said about a shinra manager redemption arc. i heard your little conversation about keeping secrets from your wife. and you too, johnny's dad. may you both get flattened by a plate.
i always found the wall market part of the original game to drag a bit, and that's back in the remake where it took me several days to get through this chapter. also part of that was trying to wait so no one would walk in because i didn't know what to expect.
- i liked the remixed of the oppressed in the collapsed highway bit
- i liked how the music around wall market seemlessly transitions between the chocobo one and the main town one like ffxiii-2's field music
- i keep singing the midgar blues song by akila to myself, but i don't know most of it and just go 'middogaru~, middogaru~' a bunch
- leslie, from the book! so nojima is incorporating characters from the book into the game.
- hellhouse! i struggled because i only had blizzard on aerith and thunder on cloud so i couldn't hit the weaknesses most of the time. i ended up winning by chipping away tiny bits of hp at the end
- hot take: aniyan is better than mukki
- i want to do more dance minigames. i'm usually pretty bad at rhythm games (ask me about my terrible attempt to play space channel 5) but i managed the main event nearly perfectly with 1 good and 1 miss
- the start of the song for the dance number makes me think of the queer eye theme song
- does how you do in the quests with johnny affect cloud's dress? i think i probably did fine for most of them (i scanned 40+ enemies at that point, and had maxed fire and lightning materials and level 2 ice) but the heal/cure/the-one-with-esuna material i hadn't levelled up at all so i don't know if i would have gotten something better there if i had
- i'm surprised how well i did at the squats minigame
- seeing the corneo vending machine holding the 10th anniversary potion bottles kinda makes me wish they still sold them, now i only have my empty bottle to remember it by
- i didn't get to answer corneo's last question because i kept thinking about which one to pick and ran out of time
- also they seem to have changed a bunch of names for the english localisation so reading this thread is confusing when i don't know what's being referenced or if i missed something

- Apparently there is now a Shinra ship called the "Relnikha". Past canon only gave us the Gelnika, so are we going to get a series of these airships now? The Telnikha, the Delnikha, the Melnikha, the Selnikha... Such potential for names.
I kinda suspected this was an instance of the NPC's getting the name wrong.

Nope, those just affect quest rewards. Cloud's dress is affected by whether you get this quest or the other (it's a branching questline).
Agreed. People have expressed disappointment the the Wall Market theme not being Oppressed People, which I get, but I did like how this song changed. Especially that Middle Eastern/Indian-ish version over by the materia shop.

see, i wasn't sure about this until you mentioned the collapsed highway because the japanese name is 'beg (ベグ)' and they're just called 'beg's gang [of theives] (ベグ盗賊団) and don't have a special nickname or anything
do they just change things to confuse me. i just found out they renamed 'speed drinks' to 'celeris' or something and i'm shook.
i don't know if you'd call it 'word play' in japanese, they use words but don't know what they mean like they're just parroting things they've heard. the first time you meet them they say because cloud and aerith have broken into their home they need to ベンショウ（弁償, to compensate or reimburse), but when the little one asks that that means they just deflect and say it means like 'you know, that'. when aerith asks what they can do, beg tells them to leave behind their ミグルミ (身ぐるみ, everything you have on you). when the little one asks what that is, beg ends up saying it's ベンショウ. which makes no sense
i will have to look for a video of it in english at some point. or maybe even play the game in english at some point
