@Mr. Ite : Because according to Tifa it's fine to leave a 4 year old running a bar by herself but not fine to leave her during an impending dropping pillar of doom:mon:.

No but seriously Marlene is probably the perfect person for to run a bar she's adorable so people will look at her and go D'awwww here take me money and nobody would ever start a brawl because god forbid you upset that face.

OK no in actual seriousness I still don't know how you can leave a 4 year old in charge of a bar.

I'm thinking they'll expand that whole Aerith and Marlene section and Tseng finding them, maybe a solo Aerith section.

OK can we all just take a second and appreciate how absolutely goddamned adorable Marlene is, I let out an awww when I saw her she's so cute!!!!

She was cute in the OG, and so adorable in AC and ACC, and once again, she is adorable in the Remake(that's probably the only best thing in this game). I always loved Marlene. She's just too cute for words!!!

Ah finally, the SE press site is working again. 423MB trailer available (far larger and less compressed than the 111MB trailer on YouTube) along with HQ screenshots from the E3 trailer and some other goodies.

One of the "beauty shots" in the "packshot" category features our best full hi-res look at Sephiroth yet:

^ This has the Aeris attitude I have been missing from the other trailers. I wonder why Cloud asked her to leave at all. Presumably she's proved herself in a fight by now, yah? Maybe she has to turn off a valve somewhere.
That shot's from the sewer, right? Maybe they're sending Aerith ahead to warn the people of Sector 7 while they hold off the sahagin?
Or maybe he’s just still in Mr. Bodyguard mode ?

Love how faithful they're keeping and representing materia slots on Cloud's swords:

Although.... if memory serves me right, Hardedge had 4 slots, one being linked. Perhaps the other single slot is on the opposite side (though so far the sword slots seem to be seen from both sides).

It's also interesting how often you see the Banora Apple advertisement:

I definitely like how they've redesigned how materia is incorporated with Tifa's glove. Makes more sense than to have them on the front of the glove:

My question would be, are linked materia slots still a thing, and when yes, how will combinations like, elemental x fire for the weapon be portrayed visually? Are you getting a burning blade?

I absolutely love Sephiroth's redesigned face. He looks a lot more like someone in their mid to late 20's than he has in previous appearances.

Also, might just be a notion to me, but in the scene where he appears in front of Cloud his bangs look shorter than in the keyart, possibly as at this point Cloud only remembers what Sephiroth from five years ago looked like?

I could be just looking at it wrong, but if not, it's a nice touch that Cloud's psyche manifests a younger Sephiroth, and when he finally appears physically (ish) he'll look a bit older.

...Even though he doesn't really age, presumably....being a fucked up alien metamorph rendition of himself

Hi all,

I've not been able to read all the pages of the threads that are going at the moment that have exploded since this morning (for me).

It was pretty shitty that I picked the wrong half of the conference to have my break in, so I'm catching up.... so watching the recording of the gameplay breakdown has me in team "I don't like the combat style change", it seems like XV (haven't played yet) mixed in with a bit of XIII with the staggered bullshit to get extra dmg in and so forth. The whole blocking thing & mashing square.... I dunno guys, initially, I don't like the sound of it/direction it's going.

I always liked taking my time & thinking about the attack/spell I was going to make, working out who I wanted to attack what enemy on the field, did I want to concentrate my attacks or spread the dmg out. It's almost like as if they're going to bring the XII gambits back in so you can program what the other 2 characters are doing while you control the character you want to play as. In the heat of a big battle, how do you manage cures & status ailments appropriately & keep damage up?

I can see myself screwing up combat & not being able to keep an eye on the ATB bars to know when I can use a spell. I think there is going to be a learning curve once I get stuck in, just like I know it's going to take a while for me to learn & understand how combat works in XV with the phasing & changing weapons & stuff.

I'm not liking the "staged battle" nature of it all, ie scorpion jumping around the zone in the reactor. "oh we need to target the a-hole under it's tail".... I hate to be negative, but whyyyyyyy does it need to go in this direction?! I dunno, am I just an old man stuck in my ways & are not able to adapt? Am I best to just play FFI up to FFX & no further?

I understood that the "Commands" are not for other characters but the one you control. So as Cloud you choose what CLOUD is going to do, who he will target, what's he going to use during this slow-mo moment. Other characters act based on AI unless you control them by switching to them.

Yes, that's correct, that's where I can't get past "ok, I've issued that attack, now hit which ever button to swap to the 2nd character, do the same with them, then hit the button again & switch to the 3rd character & do it again....." why? Again, I'm totally for the old skool turn based so you can control everyone for each action exactly when you want that action.

He says "Go ahead" in Japanese. That means she has a purpose or reason for going away while Cloud and Tifa stay and fight.

I don't think I understand you ^ ^" With normal ATB you did that - characters turn - put commands - wait - another characters turn - put commands - wait. Enemys turn - wait. You can do that too here, just make ATB bar fill up faster by atacking. You dont like it, then you just use one character all the time and either use commands with the slow-mo tactical thingy or shortcuts for more action style.
If you don't like it then that's fine, I just had impression you understood it wrong (or I got it wrong... or both of us are wrong).

- Final Fantasy VII Remake Watches, Yours For Only $2,500 Each

It seems that you can sign up for a lottery to possibly win one of these watches. Or google translate might be fooling me on that matter.

More pics of the 1st Class Edition merch plus other merch you can buy.

EDIT: Also does anybody know what this is about apart from the chocobo summon DLC?

tokuten_01.jpg

Is that supposed to be Cloud or...one of those characters from The World Ends With You? EDIT: Okay probably nothing to do with TWEWY but the art style makes me curious. Is this a hint...at FFVIIR Pocket Edition? :awesome:

EDIT #2:
@Shademp

That's Cloud and Seph on a little plastic standee.
Thanks! Worthy of note is that this plastic standee appears to be JP-exclusive.
