The game is obviously gonna come out on PC later on, I'll get that too, but I want to play it as soon as it comes out, so I'll be getting a PS4 for it.

I'm going to try and get Mr Octo to play it. He's never played any FF....or any RPG besides Elder Scrolls. Plus he doesn't even think videogames count as RPG's - he used to play Warhammer and stuff with his friends. We have had many a heated debate.

Hope so, but XII: LR hasn't come out yet, even though XIII/XIII-2 came out one right after each-other... I really have no faith in SE's tendency to port recent games to PC. Especially when a lot of PC people complain about how unoptimized they are.

I haven't shot Mr Octo...yet... so I think you'll be ok
But you should try at least one Zelda game. Even if it's just Link to the past or Link's Awakening. Or Minish Cap - you can just emulate them.

I'm going to be terrified if this game turns out the way I fear it will be. Optional content made non optional, modernized into AC style, either a FFXV battle system or one that apes the atb style from before as an action game so hard no one rates it well. Performance issues. Certain scenes like Honeybee Inn taken out, inability to make menu choices.

Very possible. Urgh. It's why just being left in the cold with a single announcement was worrying, even a very powerful one followed by tons of assuring interviews.

After I'd seen Konami teasing and promising a good game and then cancelling it, I have to remain at arm's length by SE's announcement. I've been too jaded by fucktardisms of Japan's gaming industry (Capcom and Konami. Especially Konami) as of late to even be optimistic, I even am not holding breath for KH3 out of fears that it might get cancelled too until I see some solid trailers. FF7 Remake's trailer is only a teaser, not the real thing.

I doubt III would ever be canceled - the series is a cash cow and they've been consistent with releasing games. While not everyone likes the multi-platform in between titles and wishes they could just have three all ready instead of multiports of a cell phone game that isn't very good (seriously KH coded which basically another replay-ish game gets yet Before Crisis gets nothing) - Square Enix knows the series will sell and is reliable on releasing content, even releasing content to all areas eventually (KH Chi!). And some of the in between games are good Birth By Sleep and Dream Drop Distance were great - 358/2 had good characterization (they should have tried making an anime or something). So I'm confident we'll get KH3 - the question is when we'll get it. I also wish the characters could grow more - if you were 14 when KH one came out you're in you're 26 now - it would be cool if Sora got to grow up too. What I liked about Harry Potter is it's a kid series where you don't out grow it because the characters grow with you - I'd have liked KH to do that (also I feel awkward shipping teens - when you are a teen yourself that's one thing but the older you get the more awkward it feels).
With FFVII - they won't have it out overnight - but the announcement helped their stocks go way way up - with the promise of going higher when it's released - it's guaranteed to make money. If it's canceled they will lose money - they've all ready lost a lot of face with taking so long with KHIII and XV - they need a guaranteed hit. They're going to have this thing out as fast they can do it and still have it be a good product.
So I'm thinking 3 or 4 years?
