FFVII Remake: Intergrade Yuffie DLC Announced

Dull Door, the worthy successor to Hell House. Since Hell House got promoted to star billing at Corneo's Colosseum, Dull Door haunts the slums instead. He doesn't try to kill you, he just makes you uncomfortably aware that something is a little bit off about reality. For the rest of the day you go about your business in a state of inexplicable low-grade anxiety. Does the universe have meaning? Is matter real? Are you real? Are we all prisoners on a random speck of dust hurtling through a meaningless void on its way to oblivion? You just don't know any more.

The texture issues really weren't anything worth complaining for me, although they were noticeable.

For me, the weapons upgrade menu was probably the most horrendous thing that could/should be addressed in the PS5 upgrade. The only thing that doesn't make it completely atrocious is that you can set your weapons to auto upgrade, which dismisses the need to go into that screen ever.

I liked choosing my upgrades, especially mid-game, but yeah that BWOWW transition is definitely tedius, especially for how often I accidentally left the menu  The flashy effect is obviously stalling for time while we transition from the real world to the menu world. Based on the new trailer about loading times on PS5, I reckon that fancy menu could load in half the time or less. But to change the transition to reflect that, they'd actually have to get sound design and particle effects people on it, etc. so I think that the transition is unlikely to be any different, except for us now knowing it's not just stalling, it's needlessly stalling :joycat:

On the topic of loading, I wonder if they'll remove any of the "tight space" sequences that Cloud is forced to squeeze through. With the insane processing of the PS5, those areas should be cleaned up.

I now present my top VII most requested "Quality of Life" updates:
1. Weapon skill pop-up box
2. Enhanced materia exchange options
3. Simple weapon upgrade menu (with the option of using the old one)
4. Remove "tight space" sequences
5. Mid-chapter checkpoint select
6. Option to zoom the camera even further out
7. More shortcut options in battle (basically be able to assign skills to the directional buttons as well)

Seeing as I don't think the levels themselves will be redesigned, the best we can hope for is that maybe Cloud squeezes through the tight spaces a little bit faster.

My kingdom for a proper Enemy Skill menu list. I know there are barely any skills for your Enemy Skill materia to learn yet, but the way its learned abilities are kept so obscure in the main menus is just annoying.

I think it's kind of sad to see the Battle Royale game having wider areas compared to the main game.

Confession: I am absolutely indifferent to 60fps when it comes to FFVII Remake. Part of me even thinks it looks weird with such a high framerate.

There are games where a high framerate definitely feels like it adds extra control to the gameplay (like in shooters, fighting games etc) but I just don't see that same type of essential "improved player input feedback" by making FFVIIR run at a higher framerate. As for visuals *alone*, I am fine with 30fps and don't see why I should want 60fps. :wacky:

The clean and smooth look that optimal framerate provides can feel a bit artificial. It also can take away the perceived "weight" of all the elements.
