You know, I fucking called the Combat Simulator allowing us to fight the Tsviets but I'm pretty sure others had that idea too. :monster:

However. That means the other thing I predicted will probably be true now too.

I'm now like 85% certain we'll have a Combat Simulator boss fight against "G."

It's fucking happening. It's either gonna happen here, or later down the road when we play the Combat Simulator in the next Remake title. But it's gonna happen.

LOL no but seriously there's actually a chance Genesis could come back like Jared Leto Joker here too and... I don't know how to feel about that. :monster:

Like, this could literally show us the connection Genesis had with Weiss. I feel like there's a damn good chance he'll either be seen or at least referenced. There's a reason he carried MC Hammer Pants away like an injured comrade. Genesis might not have directly helped the Tsviets overthrow the Restrictors but I wouldn't be surprised if he gave them... Some "big brother" guidance.

This doesn't mean Genesis gets freed, but make no mistake. He's down there. And if Weiss is here. Big brother can also be here.

Didn't I have to basically bludgeon you with a cardboard standee of Gackt not too long ago for you to accept that we would even see Genesis again? :awesome:

I'm betting that the story elements around Sonon Kusakube's sister is going to establish the connection between Shinra & Don Corneo that we'll eventually follow up on with the Turks in Wutai. On that note, I'm really curious if we'll get to see Yuffie calling out the fact that the statues of the warriors, dragons, and other Asian stuff in Wall Market are designed to look like an unauthentic knock-off blend of cultural elements, rather than a legitimate intersection of cultural elements like Wutai represents.

Bro, I never would have guessed they'd dig in this hard on Deepground. I didn't believe it! I thought the most we would get would be Bizarre Bugs, Blood Hounds and Failed Experiments! Maybe Combat Simulator fights.

But this? 2021 is clearly the year of Dirge!

So I can believe it. To be fair, it's been 15 damn years, it felt forgotten completely.

Maybe they'll show exactly how they "mapped" Genesis' genes onto the Tsviets (or did that happen even before DeepGround captured him in Crisis Core?), without the Tsviets technically having any Jenova cells in them (since Weiss being "pure" from both Jenova and corrupted mako was what allowed him to properly control Omega Weapon)?

Dude, remember I told you one of my longshot wishes for the Remake series would be to somehow redesign/revisit Dirge's Tsviets and give them updated designs, aesthetics and give us a look at Weiss with his own personality beyond being a meat puppet?

Look where we are now. Weiss has drip. I
I think we can dream a little.

And it only costs 20 bucks lolol

There is a cornucopia of Deepground stuff in Remake, and I'm just SO pleased that I'll be able to make more direct references to certain Deepground designs, since there are some where the more heavy stylization of Dirge is likely to fade. We've already got them using the original Deepground SOLDIER emblems vs. the ones that the standard SOLDIER has used since the Compilation, but I haven't managed to find any use of either in the very limited First SOLDIER content, so it'll be interesting to see if we get any information around the symbol differentiation back then.

Hmm. I don't know if this Yuffie DLC is enough for me to go all-in on Final Fantasy VII Remake: Intergrade (especially considering the problem with PS5 availability. I do think that FFVII Remake needs more content like this, since the original released felt a little threadbare at times, but I still haven't finished FFVII Remake proper yet, so I think I'll stick with the PS4 version. (although I am interested in hearing about what other bells and whistles come with Intergrade)
