Yes, but where is that in the game? :monster:

It seems like they only censored that stuff on their own site. The artwork of Rydia that can be seen in the game when you read her tale's description shows her in the more revealing outfit. :awesome:

Square-Enix NA censored itself there, not Nintendo.

Also, thread needs more Rydia. :awesome:

Moar Rydia? I always adored this one, though it's risque - http://www.ff-omeganebula.com/galeries/FF4/4e-fanart_ff4_rydia_11.jpg

We should have a Rydia club here. :monster:

EDIT - GOLBEZ LIVES, GOLBEZ LIVES!!!!

At the start of the final chapter, Golbez takes a mortal hit for his younger brother from a sinister Dark Knight doppelganger, giving Cecil the will to fight on in the process. Golbez dies once Cecil dispatches the doppelganger. However, he survives if the player has Ceodore, Rosa and Cecil in their party with Golbez.

Upon the Creator's defeat, Cecil and his party return home, where he and Rosa later visit Golbez's grave, sharing a brief conversation with the deceased. Should Golbez survive, he appears in a flashback in Mount Ordeals along with Cecil, Rosa, Kain and Ceodore where it is revealed that he has decided to go back to the Moon to look for Fusoya and make sure that the other Lunarians are safe

The game is redeemed, hope is alive and well, for Golbez does not have to die! Glory of glories!

in nintendo japan, they do not censor some games with nudity-related graphics, but when it set to North America, Nintendo of America's rules and guidelines will be pushed upon the release of the games there, so NoA censored it, not SE-NA.

and yeah i never thought rydia so hot in that artwork, lol

I don't think Nintendo can tell them to censor stuff on S-E's own website...

dunno whats the story behind that, but i haven't see the japanese FF4 official site so i can't compare them, lol

but maybe they (NoA) already order SE to edit the pic, lol

That's pretty much absurd in all ways. NoA can control by veto power what goes on their console, but SE controls everything else about the game.

I was stupid and didn't pay attention to the setup of things and got the first part thinking it was the game and was jarred greatly as it just ended. I know its already been discussed here...but I'm pretty miffed at having to pay that much for a cell phone game.

If done by a different author, sure, the edit is odd, but it's not unheard of for an author to redo their work from time to time. Nomura did it for the FF7 concept art images.

Given that the new version is much more in line with the other characters shots from the JP site and is far less rough, it could be the latter.
Though that does beg the question why they'd fail to update it for the JP site too, but pfeh.

That seemed unnecessary.

It doesn't look bad or anything. Just jarringly different from the rest of the image. And why change the scarf as well?

Is there a comparison of all the images they've changed for the US version?

I think Ceodore and the ladies are the only ones. If there's others, it wouldn't surprise me. This game shows us how intolerant Nintendo really is.

Their lame censorship. It's not the first time.

Again, what makes you think Nintendo had anything to do with this? We're not in the Super Nintendo ages anymore, and none of the "censored" images even appear in-game. Why would they be able to tell S-E to re-edit their artworks? And why is Rydia still unedited in the one artwork she does have in-game? It doesn't make any sense.

Tell me, when was the last time that Nintendo had ordered anyone to censor anything?

EDIT: I just took a look at that Rydia artwork for Rydia's Tale on the European website. It's censored. However, uncensored in Nintendo's Wii Shop and the game itself.

Yup, it seems like Square-Enix is a little prude when it comes to stuff on their own websites.

Yeah, gotta side with Tets here- Nintendo's not doing anything here. The censorship/ editing exists only on the S-E websites, not in the games.

I downloaded the game. Some people refused to download it, due to it wasn't in 3D or the monsters didn't "move".
