If they move the Versus to the PS4, they'll be a delay so they can reconfigure it for a new engine or some garbage :monster:

I think the first mistake made was when Wada said "Stop thinking about FFVersusXIII until 2012." to the public.

That probably just made the devs lazy. :D

I think its entirely possible they'll release it on the PS3. Wasn't FFIX released for the PS1 around the time PS2 was released, or near enough to?

Let's put it this way...Squeenix's rep is such that at most a Tri-fecta of Final Fantasies have appeared on each console...

NES: FF1-3
SNES: FF4-6
PSone: FF7-9 (not including other Square RPGs)
PS2: FF10-12 (not including X-2)
PSP/DS: mostly remakes but good all the same
PS3/XBox360: FF13, FF14, and probably FF15 if you think about it.

Okay, HISTORICALLY SPEAKING...quality aside, that's what their schedule dockets are usually gunning for.

What more can be topped really? I've seen great works in RDR, Mass Effect, Lost Planet, etc etc. So many breathtaking games and storylines have been said and told so I don't really think Versus XIII will sweep me off my feet or have me invested. XIII alone did that job well for me. :loopy: I think this game might just be shelved or cancelled ultimately.

They just need a good story and a couple of character we can invest in.

They need to go back to basics, but instead they keep shitting out turds like 13. They substitute a colander instead of a fucking plot and create a cast of the most unlikeable characters ever and think that seizure-inducing colors and parachute pants will do the job of the writers.

Even if Versus is a decent game though, judgement is probably going to be skewed simply because of the sheer fucking wait time endured. Unless it's fucking phenomenal, people will go "well, why is it that it took forever to make something that is merely ok?"

Exactly. The game could be decent. Maybe even very good. But it will fall short to the time development. It would always be "too much time".

In order to be justifiable, it would have to be "fucking mindblowing".

All I gotta say is...Caius stopped time, so Bhunivelze is probably gonna wake up at some point.

Bhunivelze is the "one who is still asleep in the Fantasy".

He also stated that the next time the game will be shown at there will be a demonstration using real time footage. Nomura also says that they're working on Versus even though Final Fantasy VII's remake is the more desired product.

Well, I can see why they'd want to show us some freaking real-time action instead of pre-rendered shit that tells us nothing about how the actual game will look.

Realtime Cutscenes = Tons of mini Quick-Time Events disguised as Gameplay.

Pre-Rendered Cutscenes = Pretty FMVs that MAY contain Quick-Time Events at branching points ala XIII-2.
