Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster [PS3/PS4/Vita]

^No it wasn't, I just over-generalised my feelings like I always do :D. The vast majority of people I know in the UK (from here alone, Ami, Marcus, Hito etc.) just COULDN'T BE MORE EXCITED OMG PASSION AND LOTS OF WORDS AND MONEY whereas the Americans are a bit more "meh" about the whole thing.

I just find it strange because in life, humour, politics, arguments, and pretty much everything else, you'd completely reverse those roles. Trufax :monster:

Some of the FFX information in the last dozen posts is new to me. I don't recall learning that
Dream Zanarkand exists in a real physical location in the same time as Spira
in the game itself. If it's in X-2, that would explain why I missed it. After a couple of attempts, I still can't bring myself to play beyond the first mission of that game x)

I have a couple of questions now:
Tidus was an inhabitant of Dream Zanarkand who was taken to Spira by Sin (Jecht). Jecht became Sin because he sacrificed himself to be Braska's final Aeon. Jecht was also an inhabitant of Dream Zanarkand. So how did Jecht get to Spira? Is there a way that doesn't involve Sin, or was the previous Sin involved? If it's the latter, why?

Dream Zanarkand just being out at sea is explained in the Ultimanias. I don't think most of us realized on our own, though it does seem pretty self-apparent after it has been pointed out, what with it being called a summoning.

As for Jecht, he would swim out to train and had noticed Sin, who would come close to the city at times to absorb pyreflies. His curiosity got the best of him and he swam over and touched the creature. He became "stuck" to Sin, who then carried him along when it went back toward the mainland.

I am indeed excited. I think the amount of effort that's gone into this very commendable and I am indeed looking forward to playing the stuff we didn't get to before. I'm not as down on the music remixes as everyone else seems to be (I'm also not sure we won't be able to change them like in FF4 Complete).

One thing I don't understand Lex, is your declaration that the PS2 controller is painful...I've just been playing with one. It's almost no different from the Dualshock 3 except the DS3's triggers are worse.

I would like the choice for the music aswell. I'm not a fan of the new Blitzball theme at all tbh, it's almost completely lost its oomph at the start.

OK so size wise the controllers are almost identical. The problem is the resistance when moving the analogue stick. Bear in mind that before playing XII again earlier this year, I've been playing with a DS3 for 4-5 years exclusively.

So its obviously something to do with the muscles in my left hand and thumb just becoming too used to the easier movement. Fangu had played XII on the PS2 for the first time a few weeks before I did it and she complained about a really sore hand - I remember laughing and being like WUUUUT LOL.

But then I played it and the exact same thing happened to me. My left thumb was pretty much crippled after the first day of using it again, and I couldn't really figure out why until I realised the difference between the movements of the analogue stick. This is a controller I've had since the PS2 launched btw, so if anything the thumbstick should be more loose.

Got used to it after a bit though. It's just one of those things you don't really notice until it affects you.

Are they releasing the new soundtrack?

If I could record the Japanese gameplay, I could probably make an English version with the soundclips. That would probably get the youtube channel shut down though :P

I read the soundtrack is being released on bluray as a sort of slideshow thing, with stills from the game. Im hoping its also available just as tracks

この物語は何かの予兆なのか?
is this story some kind of sign (of things to come)?

which kind of sounds like 'sequel'

Will someone please explain what the hell is going on in this trailer

I mean I actually really like it (and I get that it's about saying goodbye maybe?), but the emotional impact is a bit lost on me because I don't understand the language :D.

they have made a really big deal about 'partings' for this ad campaign (the slogans in the advert are 'we're destined to part from the person who matters the most someday' and 'the world is filled with partings, so we want to treasure the people who are at our side right now'). so the ads have a lot of people being separated and crying.

I really want to do something with this for our youtube channel. If anyone gets their hands on the soundtrack, let me know. If someone starts uploading to youtube, I'll see if I can sort out some partnership, or just rip the cutscenes

OK wow some of those are just fucking beautiful!

EDIT: Crap, what have they done to the boss theme.
EDIT 2: I'm ambivalent about Calm (Silence) Before the Storm. It was possibly my favourite track from the original, this version is similar enough not to annoy me but the flute would maybe stop me from putting it in my bedtime playlist as I used to.
EDIT 3: OH GOD AURON'S THEME IS BEAUTIFUL

What am i going to do, I can't stop listening to these and I'm supposed to get ready.

EDIT 4: I vastly prefer this version of Mi'ihen Highroad. But I didn't like the original :D. This is even quirkier!
EDIT 5: Rikku's theme is gorgeous.

OK, I'm just going to have to do a blow by blow account of my feelings on these at some point, because I need to stop editing this post. Overall I can say that the ambient tracks in the main sound a LOT better, but the oomphy ones like the battle theme, boss theme, blitz theme and the chocobo theme just sound a bit...tinny. And at times messy. It's a mixed bag.

I think it's about couple break up or separation because of what occurs at the end of the game.

I like it too, it was deep and emotional without too much cheese.

Shit, this is amazing oh gods somebody get me a Vita or PS 3 QUICK

THEY CUT THE BATTLE THEME SHORT

i NEEDED TO HEAR MORE

On the achievements list, there is one called "All Together", for which the description is...

All party members come together
That's one sphere I'll definitely be buying at the theatre in Luca :monster:

I really can NOT wait for this to come out, hell its one of my main reasons for getting a PS4/PS3 over the xbox one, loved these games so so much back of ps2 (defo my second and 3rd fave games after FF7 in my list).

Now if they could just do a remastered version (HD version?) of FF7 and or a FF7-2 (offical story contuined on after the events of DoC..aerith return anyone?) then id be over the moon !
