The "secret" ending was like two seconds of Caius talking. There was nothing.

Toriyama is the biggest Squeenix troll.

Also I'm pretty sure this game broke Leta. The entire stream chat exploded.

I'd buy a game in which the final boss was Toriyama and we went to Japan in which to defeat him and go make him sit in a corner or something.

Leta is apparently going through the story again in some vain hope that something's different. But the stream chat says now all the endings are accounted for. And he got the speed shoes so that means he 100% so he can't do anything more.

There is no best ending, there is only rage. (getting 100% gets you an extra scene after the credits. Caius talks to the audience and apparently tells them to continue playing. It lasts about a minute and nothing. Still playing doesn't change anything, everything is the same, leta tried it).

Screw it, flan ending is the only true ending.

As for Yuel... I really don't know what to think about her, but I don't like her. She reminds me of Serah in the first game - kind of pointless, in reality, though she is sort of a plot mover. If she's the one who transversed time before all of these other events happened, then she is the one who started this mess (?)!(?)!





So, Etro has been erased as in killed or never had been created? There's a difference. If she's killed, then balance is done with her. If she was erased from being created... That's a whole other story all together!

Someone out there is saying that playing the game again, you get slightly different dialogue options in live trigger. But nothing of substance and I haven't really seen proof (leta might have mentioned it but idk).

Right now everyone is in the "theorizing" stage, but tbh all paths lead to XIII-3. Or at least a dlc conclusion.

There are three grayed out nodes in the historia crux tree that aren't touched. Since they already achieved 100% (you get to speed through the game if you do that), then most assume it's story dlc coming soon.

EDIT: There are scans of the new FFXIII novel floating around but I don't want to post the link until I know it's not a virus.

Also it's probably in Japanese so...

EDIT II: Three grayed out areas are apparently during story sequences that you can't go back to, like Serah in that dream/afterlife world or something

I just had an idea, from what I was reading in one of the chats on Twitch.tv...

What if Etro did not do the right thing by giving humans chaos, and it fell into the hands of the wrong person? Or, any variant of this theme? Etro indeed kept the balance between the seen and unseen worlds by giving human a bit of chaos, but who is there in the cosmos who could also benefit from this act - good or evil?

I mean, do we really know who this Chaos-Bahamut is?

I thought I'd just say what I was thinking. Maybe this is the way the game is going? Whether it will lead to a XIII-3 I don't know, but.... ???

Well TBH getting the whole bestiary is quite easy. Better than "treasure hunting". On XIII I got it whole if it wasn't for just one. I wished that was the platinum instead of Treasure fucking hunting.
I'm pretty sure you'll get a better ending now. People are more familiarized with that system sooo.... the chances go right up.

Treasure hunting is getting between me and 100%ing achievements for FFXIII, I will forever hate it.

The speed shoes are actually a neat idea for post game.

Yeah, I had a feeling XIII-3 was coming, even before the tbc. When they announced they were trying to change their business plan to pumping out Final Fantasy titles more quickly, sequels are the easiest, most reliable ways to do it. It just made sense to me.

Weirdly, I don't actually mind it. I know we're suppose to be up in arms about it, but idk. I like this shift towards the FNC mythology, the original game barely touched on it, it was more of a character study/run from the government thing. There was no way they were going to resolve the FNC in this game anyway. I guess I'm the kind of fan that makes it impossible to have nice things

I do, however, hate the ambiguous ending. Even if it was a lead up to XIII-3, all Final Fantasy games has always been a complete story onto itself.

Same, tbh. I'm only slightly annoyed because I wish they would have just announced XIII as a trilogy from the start because it would have made a cliffhanger ending more forgivable (even though I still think there could have been a better resolution to that story than just having everyone die/go into the invisible world).

The exploration into the mythology in this trilogy actually makes me slightly more interested in Versus oddly enough.

Speaking of which, 'Epic Finisher' is not for getting a so-called true ending.

The trophy in question is about following the story through to its conclusion.

This thread has made me think I won't be preordering it afterall. I really don't like putting that much time and effort into a game without pay-off like a story conclusion. I didn't mind having to go back and do everything to get the 'true' ending. But it not actually being an ending is fucking lame. Games can leave themselves open for sequels and give you an ending with some satisfaction.

FFXIII-2 I am disappoint.

I'm still preordering, but I am weak like that. Although I am sure at the end, even though I've seen it two or three times, I will still be like "TROLLIYAMA'D" at the end. Not going to 100% though, no patience for things like casino slots for a crap ten seconds ending.

I heard people say that this is just a time loop but I don't see it. I don't know how it's a time loop if Valhalla is destroyed because time doesn't work like that.

I've never been overly concerned with spoilers, but it does amaze me how people like Splintered and Tres literally view the entire game and its story and are still willing to play through it.
