I know you fight Alexander in FFXI, but I thought he wasn't a summon. Just a Notorious Monster. Some of the Avatars you aren't capable of making a pact with, such as Bahamut and Odin.

That just leaves Vanille. It's been pointed out that she summoned Carbuncle from a disk in the earlier trailer, and since the Eidolons are connected to Crystals, maybe her Eidolon isn't Carbuncle.

I'm loving what little has been announced regarding the battle system. FFX has always been my favourite, so something similar to that is very welcome, especially when it has its own unique twist to it. Hopefully it'll be as enjoying as it sounds.
