Final Fantasy XV (was Versus XIII)

Just finished the Adamantoise hunt.

There's a 'saying' in Guilty Gear when you're surrounded by Huge Enemies... Or at least one Really big boss.

"No need to aim." :neo:

This fight took me about an in-game day without break damage limit, and there's enough excuse to use items, but you'd sooner die from a fall or bad camera than anything else. Imho the Long Gui in FFXIII was harder.

I honestly had more fun with Leviathan.

Also defeated the Wondrous Weapon quest prior to this, he hardly put a dent in my party.

Maybe the Magitek Armor will be harder.

I just saw a video earlier with this amazing parry move you can only do in that fight:

That has to be one of the top five coolest things I've ever seen in Final Fantasy.

And speaking of seeing cool shit in fights in this game, in the last battle, if
you use an ice spell on Ardyn near the end of the first phase of the fight, when he pushes Noctis to the ground and stands over him, he looks so fucking creepy covered in ice:

(posting two such videos because the effect lasts longer in one than the other)

I got lucky and he did it to himself.

Titan also has a unique summoning attack for that fight ^
I'm at work and can't find it, but it's pretty dope :wacky:

Even as a person who isn't invested in Final Fantasy XV, I really enjoy these OoB exploration videos. They appeal to my interests. :monster:

Those special moves for certain fights are the shit and they should do more. Especially if you can actually see what's happening, instead of it being a clusterfuck of poor camera position behind bushes or clipping through walls and too quick movements at a too low framerate :monster:.

Seriously, maybe I just suck, but that summarizes my experience in fights. That, and being knocked down a lot because there's no obvious pattern to the regular enemies' movements (or no clear semaphore that they're about to hit you). I mean the horse enemies just flail about for half a minute while you're standing there waiting for it to finish. No way to interrupt it or whatever.

There's a similarly cool sequence against
Ifrit where Noctis is tossing the Royal Arms around between the gang who all get a hit before you warp strike with Regis' sword into his chest.
The game has some seriously satisfying combat moments.

Yeah, if you time the parry perfectly.

So far though, depending on my equipment, certain parry windows are small.

I think Black Hood helps a lot, though I'm not sure if Easy Mode has any effect on it.

I kinda wanna cosplay as post-timeskip Noctis :wacky:

Without the cape and leg brace though. Just the dapper suit. :monster:

I actually spent about half hour today trying to figure out if I could make an Ardyn cosplay work. :closedmonster:

It's a different suit:

While none of the outfits seem to lend themselves particularly well to combat, the suit was just a bridge too far for me, hahaha. I was able to get on board with the internal lore of the Kingly Raiment and the Kingsglaive outfits actually bestowing some abilities. But not just a fancy Japanese suit :monster:

Speaking of that, where DO you get all the outfits? I only saw others use the Pinstripe, also the Reactor Hazard Suit, but I haven't obtained those at all. (Is waiting for Versus XIII outfit still)

the fancy suit is from the deluxe edition, I believe. (the one that comes with the movie). The hazard suit you get from a mission...I'm pretty sure it's part of the main quest. Have you looked lately? It might be in there.

Pretty sure the suit under the Kingly Raiment is his Roen party suit from the Versus XIII peace treaty scene

It makes me incredibly upset that you can't just wear the suit. I even saw a video where the game glitched and
the game loaded their young models instead of their older appearances. Noctis can wear the suit no problem.

I do like my Royal Raiment though. :P

And during the final confrontation. I would like to get the option since I imagine it'd be simple to do.

So awesome.

I think we've seen almost all of the wilderness now. We just need a better video exploring the Ghorovas Rift than the one I found previously.

Of course, the Holy Grail will be if someone can put up a video exploring all of
Insomnia
. We know it can be done thanks to a glitch someone got during the final battle. We just need to a see a proper video of it.

I guess it would also be cool to find out if more of
Gralea
can be explored, but I don't think anyone is nearly as interested in that one.

The pinstripe suit was a special bonus with the Deluxe version of the game.

The Hazard suit is just a random item you can find. It is in Lestallum next to where Holly is standing after you clear the monsters from the power plant.
