Final Fantasy XV (was Versus XIII)

Valse di Fantastica might be one of my all-time favourite FF tracks. I seriously cannot get enough of it.
The game was massively lacking a ballroom scene to make proper use of it.

I got to Cartanica. Wow, shit got intense. That Leviathan fight was probably the most epic fight I've seen in a Final Fantasy game. Truth be told, the technology back in the past did not help make it all so epic but holy cow.

Regarding Luna's death... I feel it would have had a lot more impact if she had been more present in the game. I know the route they went for, making her a bigger presence than her character itself. And the fact she appeared in the movie means she got enough screentime but then... if they wanted to replicate the feeling with FFVII, they fell short because she characer was undeveloped.

One almost feels more for Noctis than for Luna... that said, it was still the biggest moment of the game so far.

Now, about Ignis and his condition... I've finally realised what I prefer about the Japanese voices (I'm playing with those). Ignis' character comes across better in the original. The tone of his voice is not as stern and you can feel a bit more the bond with the rest of the group. In terms of Japanese vs English, the contrast was parcularly big when Noctis wakes up. In the original, you can feel the whole "I don't want you to feel sorry for me but I'm so fucked" thing he has going on...

I can't wait to continue and see what happens in Tenebrae.

I finally finished the game last Sunday night, having clocked around 178 hours. Damn son!!

That was quite emotional. I have to admit that I felt a bit more fleshing out of the story would have done the game good but it was still good. Revisiting it all this week since my brother is now going through the second half of the game with more than 120 hours himself. It's pretty cool to share the journey with someone else there. Also, seeing that part of the game is making it more interesting.

Well... I finished nearly every side quest and all I have left to do is the post-game dungeons, post-game bosses, some scattered items here and there... the rest is all done.

Sure, I know some days I left the console on while I was eating dinner, which adds a few hours, but you know.

I got a lot of hours into this game too, but I think at least 20 of them were from when I paused the game to do real life stuff

Has anyone else spent literally hours just wandering around in different areas? I love doing that. Adventuring and exploration is so fun. <3

Extra notes:
Final Fantasy XIII's launch month had it selling 828,000 copies on PS3 and 493,000 copies on X360, for a total of 1,321,000 copies. Selling 19% more copies than that means that FFXV would have sold nearly 1,572,000 copies in the US alone, nearly doubling the game's Japanese sales.

It's worth pointing out that, given the intense discounts the Standard Editions received from many of the major retail outfits, the 54% increase in revenue implies that a significant portion of the copies sold were Deluxe Editions.

Every time the mention updates to Chapter 13 I have to wonder if they understand what, in my opinion, the biggest issue was (i.e The long, dragging nature). Balance stuff can't alleviate that. Though I guess they probably do know and are just doing anything they can do.
