Game of Thrones

Season 7 delayed

“We don’t have an air date yet,” Thrones showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss have told the UFC Unfiltered podcast. “We’re starting a bit later because at the end of this season, ‘Winter is here’ – and that means that sunny weather doesn’t really serve our purposes any more. So we kind of pushed everything down the line, so we could get some grim, grey weather even in the sunnier places that we shoot.”

So, HBO has recently announced several locations in Spain for Season 7 of Game of Thrones, which if you haven't heard, will officially air next summer so that they can actually shoot during the winter time, and will also be only seven episodes.

The reason these new shooting locations have intrigued me is because most of the locations in Spain have served for Dorne, so I'm wondering if this means that
Dany will land in Dorne first and then take her army throughout all of the seven kingdoms one by one?
Who knows? I'll speculate more as they start filming.

I don't mind waiting longer for the next season, especially for a very good reason, but only 7 episodes has really bummed me out. I know it's getting close to the endgame but I for one wouldn't mind more screentime with characters still. :( Will it be the same price when it comes out on DVD?

Now I'm wondering if they'll try to get permission for doing some Dunk and Egg stories... I for one would love that. :monster:

Also, I never posted my finale thoughts, but suffice to say I REALLY LOVED IT. Sad moments, cold moments, triumphant moments, good moments, it had it all.
And yes, I was actually fairly sad to see Margery die. I really liked her and wished she could've actually reached her goal. She was constantly striving towards it and had a great game going, but Cersei, thanks to the Mad King's past deeds, came out on top.
I for one don't think she'll live long in the next season. And I rather like the idea of Jamie being the one to end her reign (drama and shit). I have a secret hope that Jamie survives the series and him and Brienne meet again but this is GoT and that probably wouldn't ever happen :wacky:

Okay.

Not a dry eye in my face when Hodor died. Although I was spoiled about it happening, it was something else to see. Very intense and tragic.

Cersei getting revenge on the religious zealots was awesome. Some resulting deaths were sad and took me by surprise. Silly me. Anyways. Cersei: bad ass. A return to form. I was getting bored with her until that happened, tbh.

Was expecting more from the battle of the bastards, given all the hype I heard about it and the build up to it. Was a bit underwhelmed.

Bit underwhelmed also by Arya's subplot this season. Intrigued about where it is going though.

The tall dude with the scarred face. Forgot his name. I liked his scenes.

The mother of dragons pwning the slave masters and attacking the ships had me grinning ear to ear.

Shit is certainly going to go down next season.

Link no work :kermit:

I had a GoT dream last night, and in said dream I was basically Ygritte if you catch my drift. I'll leave that open to interpretation. :awesome:

It was my favorite season since...oh...idk...maybe the first season. I like every season in some way shape or form but as the series progressed it took me a while to appreciate the idea that the show is just a whole different animal altogether. (Btw, just as with the books, the first three seasons and their character arcs were my favorites).

Re: book vs show
I understood that changes were being made to account for/compile the thousands of pages of content that Martin wrote but I love the source material so much. My biggest hangup thus far has been that the differences on screen have made it difficult for me to theorize, and I love GoT theories. Now that I acknowledge the show and the books as completely separate from each other, it's easier for me to appreciate the show. And in that regard, I should rewatch it. :D

The first season might always be my favorite because nostalgia, but Season 6 is a very close 2nd. I know the source material is still there, but the show runners have a lot more freedom now (or so it seems). Pls for the love of doge, I want to see more of Euron/Victarion. In the books it seems like Victarion is going to give Dany a very severe challenge, especially if his little dragon horn thing works. Of course the book and show are different creatures, like I said, but still...if Euron made an appearance in the show and has apparently been merged with Victarion, let him be the worthy adversary that he is set up to be in the books. ;____;

I hope I'm making sense. O_O

A youtube video explaining (for the most part) dreams and visions as described in the book, supported and contrasted with events and shit from the TV show. Haven't watched all of it yet, idk how much spoilers are in there, but assume the worst. Also moar R+J explanation. Edit: moar watching, err, I guess don't watch if you don't like speculation and dots connected to predict revelations in future books, :monster:. Some pretty far-fetched theories too though. Interesting.

About the Faceless Men, I was hoping in vain that the whole "become no one" thing would be revealed as bullshit. If you are supposed to give up everything you are, then who is the person doing the giving up? :monster:
