And if you want to get into that conversation, while I do believe that sex is at its best with someone you really love and care about (however, since my last recent breakup with my long term girlfriend, I'm not really looking for another one any time soon, and I sure as hell don't plan to wait until I get another long term girlfriend to have sex again), if it 'just happens' with someone you really like and are attracted to that doesn't have that boyfriend/girlfriend label (yet, even), there's nothing slutty or lacking in standard about that.

Sex is the highest form of physical expression and I can understand that it has certain boundaries, but getting into an ivory tower situation about it and utterly restricting yourself to it, is just...unrealistic, I think.

Subjective. Everyone has the right to their personal beliefs, though. Like I said, though as far as my situation goes, I just broke up with a girlfriend of 3 years. I'm not really looking forward to waiting until another year and another girlfriend of three years before it happens again. I'm in the prime of my youth, waiting until I'm 25 to have sex isn't an attractive prospect.

Not just "oh, we happen to be having a good time and we're not going to be more than friends".

When it's one sided, it sucks, but in the scenario above I was postulating that there's nothing wrong with that if the understanding that it turns into a relationship after the fact. Sex doesn't necessarily HAVE to be after a relationship starts, sometimes, that's how they start.

Life is really unpredictable and flexible. You never really know what can happen.
