The Final Fantasy games are named so because the original one was the last push Square were going for before they assumed they'd go bust, they were close to being bankrupt, so Sakaguchi named it suitably as they all assumed it would be their final game, the original turned out to be one of Square's most successful games they'd ever released at that point and of course the rest is history, irony no?

I have to briefly derail the thread to say that this is actually not quite accurate, despite its oft-reported nature. Sakaguchi named it so because he expected it to be his last effort to make it in video games before heading back to university to pursue a new career path.

Still ironic as fuck.

Alight i'm 3 hours into the game and i'm back in the train graveyard following a visit to wall market, in which yet another jarring shift of tone occurs when Tifa, Eh-ris and Cloud are almost raped by a man named Don Corneo and his cronies, Corneo then drops them into a sewer via trap door and are then forced to fight some beasts before coming back up to the surface.

As far as it being "one of the worst games of all time" goes, even if I thought you actually believed it was at a "Kabuki Warriors"-level of bad -- and I don't believe you think that so much as I believe you're just trying to get a rise out of people on this forum -- it would never be sorted into such a classification by any objective party.

The same as even someone who hates The Beatles' music would never try to claim that they were objectively one of the worst bands of all time if they themselves were being objective. You can dislike something all you want without resorting to baseless nonsense.

Hell, I'm so sick of zombie shit I could happily go without seeing any of it ever again. I wasn't even impressed with "The Walking Dead" when the comic was still a relatively new thing. That being said, I would be epically full of shit if I said either the comic or the TV show are contenders for being among the worst of their respective mediums.

If you're just here to rile up blind fanboys, you're kind of wasting your time.
