It's all really just colorful vomit. I'm looking for a style but I can't seem to find one that fits. When I was growing up, Amano was my idol and I wanted to paint just like him, but now that I'm older I have a hankering to paint both vibrantly (like Amano) and realistically (less like Amano).

I really love looking at the different traditional clothing styles from different countries and I've thought about doing an art tribute to cultural attire, but if I screw it up it might be...er, idk...offensive. :|

Oh just go for it I say. People just fucking live for being offended these days because misery and oppression is a contest. Unless you're going to do some terrible gollywog type stuff ofc You can't screw it up if you're making art - it's a tribute not some sort of documentary y'know?

Anyway, you can do Welsh national dress - I'm sure Cab will back you up on that, and you can do Irish and Scottish stuff because I'm like 1/4 Irish and 1/6 Scottish or something. And you can do tracksuits which are the national attire of Merseyside where I am from

I'd actually really advise against appropriation of artwork from particular indigenous cultures. Native American and Australian Indigenous groups I know take issue with it. In some instances, people can get kicked out of their communities if it is found out they haven't protected the usage of their symbols, etc. I'd do some background research first at the very least. Also understand these populations are culturally diverse. Each group have different designs, so getting permission from one group doesn't mean you can use the designs of another group. If you really want to pay tribute, why not have an open dialogue with the communities that create such art, seek permission. Know what you're actually paying tribute to . They may allow you, but you may find permission ain't easily earnt.

I guess the appropriate way to go about things would be to find inspiration from cultural attire and not try to replicate it.

Also:

Years ago when I had money to spend I commissioned this book from Tedra Ashley at fineblankbooks.com. I don't even remember how many pages are in it. The paper is all 90lb watercolor paper and it weighs 13lbs. Iirc, I spent almost $500 on this and then I put it away so it wouldn't be harmed. I'm making use of it again, starting tonight!

As far as I can tell you she dresses casual purple polo shirts with a tie and has a long skirt or blue jeans. She has an hour glass figure and sports glasses. She ties her hair in a ponytail and has long hair.

would you not be able to put it in a poster tube? Like if you sandwich it between two pieces of paper - like that blank newsprint stuff? and then roll it? Assuming that it's going to be framed at the other end it should be ok.

The paper is so thick that it doesn't roll but I think I could just collapse a shipping box and ship it flat inside of that. Methinks.

I had no idea how this ink would hold up on porcelain but it seemed to do just fine.
