Mysterious Skin.

I watched it with my sister. It was awesome. :awesome:

Sucks that she had to cover my eyes and ears at the :quote:sex scenes:quote: though. It's not like I've never seen any before...but she doesn't know that so... :wacky:

Casablanca (1942)

How to describe it... The acting really reflects its time and can not be compared with what we have today. Nevertheless it is very well done.
Memorable dialogue and scenes; you feel they made the movie just as long as it needed to be.
A good movie.

I never read the book and despite the oh so obvious spoiler that's been talked about for years, I was still surprised and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Howard's End

I felt that the end was a lot more surprising than it should have been. It's a very nice period film nonetheless, chronicling the life of two sisters living in London during the early twentieth century.

Finally got my Watchmen in the mail today, didn't have as much of an impact as when I first watched it, but still very enjoyable.

Eastern Condors - Nonstop shooting, explosions and kung fu = great entertainemnt. One of Sammo Hung's best if you ask me. Real silly humour is nowhere to be found.

Not Sure - guess the movie.
The last film I saw was pretty old. It was called "Some Like It Hot" very old and very funny.

Deserves every bit of its classic status. I need to watch Ran and Throne of Blood now.

I've never heard of that film before...I'll have to search it up. Is it old? I adore old movies. :>

Japanese release was 1954; it came out, in severely truncated form, in the U.S. two years later. Various re-releases since then have restored the complete cut; both Criterion editions contain the entire film.

I watched Blue Lagoon.

It is a beautiful story of the survival of two kids as the grow up and fall in love. I really do love it. <3

Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter?

Very good satirical film about advertising and commercialism. Pretty funny too with some inventive cinematography, which gives it some sort of Cartoon-like quality (which isn't strange considering the director)

The Eight Diagram Pole Fighter:

One of the best Shaw Bros productions if you ask me. It's a pity Alexander Fu Sheng died during the production in a car accident, (he was very talented and had charisma) the whole film seems to have some strange vibe because of it. Amazing martial arts, gorgeous cinematography and a great plot makes a martial arts classic.

Good man.

Well.. I just watched Eraserhead.
just seems like a mish-mash of vaguely connecting mindfucks for the purpose of making people speculate about what it's actually about.
So basically, the perfect art film for people who can stand/dont mind seeing a deformed fetus get stabbed, then... mutated? aquire teleportation/growth powers? dude just freaking out more? I dunno.

I really dont see how people call it a work of art.

Just saw The Fountain, but I never heard of it until I accidentally / randomly downloaded the soundtrack from a torrent site that has nothing to do with either movies or the genre of said soundtrack.

As for the movie, I'm very impressed. Very good movie, imo, even though it's a bit vague as it seems to be leaving bits out (or leaving bits to the imagination of the viewer). I'd definitely recommend it, :monster:.

And the soundtrack's good too, only that's one I find better when listening to it without the movie.

Loved the music myself but I thought the film was pretentious new age mumbo jumbo.

Watched Les Diaboliques which was amazing. Suspenseful, especially in the ending.

Also watched Lucio Fulci's The Black Cat, I had no expectations of it but I really liked it. Pretty atmospheric, not too much gore (we're talking about Fulci here :monster:) but entertaining.

Saw Chocolate. Good action and a badass female martial artist made it worth the viewing imo.

True, :monster:. I liked that it was a combination of a large amount of various genres though - ye olde court drama, current-day sappy sad love story, futuristic vague new-age sci-fi, andsoforth.

Isn't that directed by Stephen Sommers? I'm not holding out any hope whatsoever.
