Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII Spoiler Thread

From what I understand, Mwynn was killed by Bhunivelze and then ended up in the Unseen World. Then, when Etro died and went to Unseen World, she(?) saw that Mwynn was being absorbed into the chaos. Then, Mwynn entrusted Etro with the task of regulating the flow of souls. (I think this stuff is from the 13 Ultimania Omega?)

Hope specifically says in LRFF that the man-made fal'Cie Pandemonium is in Yusnaan and produces food for Nova Crystallia.

Etro was given the task of controlling the chaos, and maintaining the balance and order between the whole of the cosmos, seen and unseen. The giving of souls was Etro's own idea.

To those who have now watched full streams of the game, are you satisfied with the result? Did you find it to be a decent conclusion to the storyline (whatever it ended up being) or not?

as a fan of XIII and XIII-2 (not so much about this one), I liked the direction they went with this final title.

Aside from a few things I think overall yeah, it's a pretty decent conclusion to the storyline. LR's storyline, that is, not really for the whole trilogy. I'm still unsure about it, and I'll see how I'll feel about it come February.

My thoughts right now, which ofcourse are not final because I haven't played the game yet, is that it was a good ending for the whole trilogy aswell. For these two games they have been living in a world where they are constantly harassed by the gods, and now
the can finally live together in a world where they can finally relax and they don't need to depend on gods anymore. Just my two cents :P

The game felt kind of mundane, really. The side-quests were pretty trivial and the main story was pretty short, too (though, I suppose you can only do so much in 13 days). I'm quite glad they actually ended the series, though. But, as a result... I didn't like that you had to play the game a second time in order to obtain platinum.

i can definitely say that i never saw the sequels going the way they did (time travel?? now the world is ending???)

while i do enjoy the game, there were a lot of moments when i was like 'i've been helping this guy with his restaurant and looking for items for this person for a long time now and not so much any main story'. you have 4 story-related main quests, and sazh's which is kind of not the same as the other main quests, and if you finish those then you're waiting until the last day before you can get any more any of the main story. the playtime for my first playthrough was 60-odd hours, but that wasn't made up of a large main story. lots of games have extra stuff (my god eater save is double that and sure as hell isn't main story stuff), but it seems like there's potentially a long time between main story segments if you finish things too soon. i think i had a few days where i was basically waiting for the 13th day (and then i ended up unlocking the 'lost time' 14th day so i had an extra day to wait).

if there was a way to try in the side quests to the main story, or have them add something like unlocking more back story or something, that would have been something. i suppose getting the 14th day and the dungeon with the last ones kind of gets you some extra story. but still, something like unlocking extra cutscenes or things like the fragments from ffxiii-2 would have been nice.

i will still play it more when my time frees up at bit, though :sadpanda:

I too was initially surprised by how short the main story quests are, though it was something I kind of expected already, because LR's story seems like an expansion pack for XIII-2.

If there is, it might be more staff-project behind-the-scenes related, since a lot of LR stuff has gone public (SE is whistling a louder tune lately).

As for myself... I've been having my doubts about whether or not I will spend cash on a Day One Pre-Order of LR.

Second Guessing myself (since I just bought Gundam Breaker and am content with that at the moment).

LR seems like it's worth it. Just gotta swallow my pride and give up my cash, lol

The Retrospective video made me reconsider how much love they put in to this...

It actually ended. That's about all I can say for or against it.

lol

aight, let me know when there is an English stream for it on youtube or wherever.

I don't know how the mechanics even function in this universe. Space and time were probably created by one of the Gods probably the big B, and now it will be made anew?

I am getting the game for Bhunivelze and whatever of the mythology I can get. That's really all.

And as deluded as it may be, I still can see Mwynn behind everything. I just can.

I bring forth news

According to the Datalog, most of the fal'Cie are dead.

The only fal'Cie left makes food for everyone and should he die, humanity dies.

Yeul is the cause of everything that is happening in LR. She also caused Light to be drug into the Unseen Realm.

"Yeul is the cause of everything that is happening in LR. She also caused Light to be drug into the Unseen Realm."

Finally a reason for why Lightning was dragged to Valhalla!

at least is a better explanation than "Light ended in Valhalla by chance or because Etro wanted", like some ppl thought.
