In my search tho in the cesspool that is Twitter, I’ve found some arguments that the dream sequence is Cloud’s resolution scene? Was this confirmed in the Ultimania?

@Graymouse I did wonder where she kept him all this time. Please tell me they're going to keep it the same..

Also potato quality photos incoming cuz I'm on my old phone.

In the main digest, the pic shows Cloud watching her while she blames herself for the plate falling. "It's all our fault." View attachment 6155

She's clearly distraught over people getting hurt. And in her Resolution scene, the text reads: She is unable to control her sadness while talking to Cloud.

As awkward as he was, he seriously helped her get through her sadness, at a moment she needed him most, so that she could find her resolve to continue her fight with Shinra and save Aerith. This guy's a keeper. If only he didn't have serious mental issues.

And the Aerith screencap is actually of her saying the, "It's frustrating, but I'm happy" line, not don't fall in love with me. I was mistaken.

The text under the first pic: Although she was captured by Shinra, Aerith somehow appears before him. She wants to tell him something, but...

So does this mean Aerith never actually went through with telling Cloud?

No, you can clearly read "Aerith" there. It's all lies, as usual.

I dunno why anyone listens to those idiots. I had one in my inbox trying to say that Tifa is morally bankrupt because she wants Cloud when he has the emotional maturity of a 16 yo. Never mind their argument that Aerith is the approved older woman Cloud's mother talks about.

It's all double standards with them.

Aerith's downed dialogue about Zack is genuine. I've heard it.

What was their basis? Were there citations or were the claims purely hearsay?

Speaking of the Ultimania, a kindle copy of it is apparently already available according to the guys at the Ultimania thread and are already talking about possibly translating the book from there. And I believe Tres also has his physical copy, too. It's a 700+ page book. Excited for all the info that's contained in there.

I did not dare read the entire thread but I think they’re basing it off of the chapter description saying “each of them resolved to rescue Aerith” So maybe each = Cloud, Barret, Tifa, and since Barret and Tifa got their own scene maybe they concluded Cloud’s was the dream? :mon: Things are not pretty on the LTD front in Twitter. Glad I’ve avoided most of it. Lol

That’s why I’m curious if the Ultimania described it as Cloud’s

I don't really understand the logic behind such a conclusion, but more power to them I guess. We'll just have to wait for the gals and guys who have copies of the Ultimania to confirm. As far as resolution scenes are concerned, I'm of the opinion that all three of them are canon.

Addendum: really curious about null's question as well.

No but seriously guys, I've quoted the post with the Ultimania picture and you can read Aerith's name there. Tifa / Aerith / Barret, so they're clearly making up shit as they talk.

Yes, I see that. But I think Purple's main concern was if a specific resolution scene was ever ascribed as Cloud's, perhaps in another page dedicated to him or something. I admit I just recently woke up from my nap so I could be misunderstanding things. If so, I apologize.

I believe only Tifa, Aerith, and Barret got resolution scenes in the Beginning of CH14.

@odekopeko has a physical copy of the Ultimania and I believe a few pages back gave us a screenshot of the resolution scenes.

The scene order of happening is

Tifa Resolution
Aerith Resolution
Barret Resolution

All three happening on the same night and all three canon. So, I am not sure what those people are on twitter are talking about.

Am I allowed to post screenshots of the FF7R Ultimania from my own personal copy here? Not sure if it's allowed.

Regarding Chapter 14 resolutions, I saw some people saying that only Aerith's is canon because they showed it in the credits. I think hers being in the credits makes a lot of sense in the broader scheme of things, but I believe all three are meant to be canon, not just one. They suggest that we go back to unlock all of them. They also highlighted key dialog from Tifa and Barret in Chapter 13 that lead up to their resolution scenes in Chapter 14. So is it safe to assume these all happened in one night like you guys said, right?

The "Hidden Scenes" section of Chapter 14 shows all three, and here's the sequence:

1. Tifa's Resolution, screen cap of Cloud and Tifa embracing.
2. Aerith's Resolution, screen cap of Aerith's face telling Cloud not to fall in love with her.
3. Barret's Resolution, screen cap of him talking

I'd like to think that this is the order in which the events happened.

I can read and speak Japanese pretty fluently, so yeah. But yeah, about the Highwind scene, if we get at least get a kiss and fade to black most people (me) will be satisfied. I don't need to see them セフィロス in HD................or do I...?

Edited to add the quote.

Aerith's downed dialogue about Zack is genuine. I've heard it.

I know that I heard Cloud say a couple of things to Tifa, when she is downed during battle. Something along the lines, "sorry I couldn't keep our promise" and also, "Tifa, I am sorry."

I looked for video to back it up but I couldn't find it for the life of me. I know it was said.

So Cloud got approximately 1 hour of sleep :P

Yeah, he didn't get much sleep at all. Remember he is a light sleeper. "soldier and all that jazz" :monster:

I think the only time when it was mentioned from Cloud is Nojima who talked about him wanting to comfort Tifa and how he came to it in ch14, so if they want to play that game, uhuh LOL.

Also just for fun, but as I said elsewhere I'm watching Materwelonz who knows (knew) nothing about FFVII and went totally blind into FFVIIR. She's very sharp, and at the beginning of ch10, she loves both Tifa and Aerith to bits, was afraid of the cat fight that could happen (since the first game was made in the 90's) but was relieved to see them getting around. She also sensed Tifa's jealousy in the sewers when she woke her first, but as she said, it's kind of natural because she feels that Tifa likes Cloud, but she doesn't sense that from Aerith to Cloud so far, so she doesn't think Aerith will get jealous of Tifa (we'll see how she adjust that later on or not). Also she calls Tifa "my girlfriend" (because she talks in Cloud's place lol it's hilarious, and yes she thinks he likes her too). Oh and she absolutely got a perfect at Andrea's dance on first try lol and enjoyed Cloud walking around and going to talk to every NPC daintily - she's really fun to watch play.

The resolution scene from chapter 14 are clearly from Tifa, Aerith, and Barret. The devs even said it is pretty much a nod to the Gold Saucer dates/optional scenes in OG. How can it get more clear than this? Also, what do they gain from having it somewhat being Cloud's resolution and having his subconscious telling him that whatever he was feeling fo Aerith wasn't real? It would make it worse imo.

None of the resolution scenes was ever ascribed as Cloud's. Not in any pages that I see in my copy.

My question is, isn't it too early for us to know, and won't they explore more of that later? Cause, frankly, the more times I watch Aerith's resolution, the more I feel we're not supposed to know what she made up her mind about yet. She was struggling to tell him something here, but Cloud doesn't really get her, and so he thinks this is simply about going to save her at Shinra HQ.

She also did the same thing in her Discovery Scene in Chapter 8, when she tried to explain to him about the flowers trying to tell her something, but how she can't hear what they're saying yet because she keeps giving up before she can. Cloud doesn't get her there either. She ends up smiling and changing the subject, and they go inside her house.

Whatever resolution Aerith came to after Cloud said he was coming to get her, we can only speculate, because she's not going to tell him or us yet. That's just my personal take on it.

Can I just say that I can totally see where they're getting this idea from? They're simply looking at the scene from a shipper's perspective. It's not a total lie. Just a narrow view, and lacking peripheral. But if they choose to interpret the scene that way, it's not like we can convince them to see the bigger picture. That's not how shipping works with most people.

Because it is basically open to interpretation. For me, I don't see it as a romantic scene, or Cloud's confession of love or any of that nonsense, but I can see where people can interpret it that way.

You're right! Shippers will be shippers and there's no way to be 100% objective when we have a certain preference in the game ( all of us included), some ppl don't even try to be objective at all... and that's fine, too! As long as you don't drag any of the other characters to the mud to make your point there's no harm in that I guess.

Idk if this applies too much to this thread tho ( since discussing the LTD is the point here), but if people just wanna play the game and enjoy their own point of view/interpretation there's really not a problem there.

I am interested to see what Bri has to say about the scene if she gets it, I know she was really looking forward to people seeing it and they took great care with it :) Or wait was that the "language of flowers" she meant, I'll need to double check.

It's pretty cool that Briana's going through the game on twitch. The Language of Flowers scene might be the best small emotions moment in the game.

I'm sure the other actors are very proud of their work, but you can tell how life changing the role is for her. Though she's pretty vague about the plot stuff for obvious spoiler reasons, I'd still like to hear her thoughts.

The Aerith resolution scene is probably the strongest of the three, but it also has multiple interpretations whereas Barret and Tifa are more straightforward.
