Who says the line in bold, is it Cloud or Tifa?

Looks like Tifa to me. I'm feeling stupid, I don't even remember that line being there. Actually, I really am not recognizing most of that excerpt. Was this recently re-translated? Or something along those lines?

It's in the new Case of Tifa, released with ACC. Seems like it's a new added line, indeed.

Well, I don't know considering he could have realised with Tifa's previous line that she's got the impression of something different from what he meant (he seems aware she's sensitive over his attachment to Aerith still, after all) and therefore he's correcting her insecurities?

But then it also works the other way round. That's why I'm slightly confused.

This is basically Tifa saying "Aerith didn't bring Denzel to just you". Whereas Cloud at first thought she was saying "no you big dummy Aerith did not bring that child to you".

Then of course Cloud placates her with a fake smile.......

Which is why I'm leaning much more to thinking it's Tifa but I thought I'd double check.

It's not an added line, it was there in the beginning too.
Maybe revised, cba to check now, but Tifa said that in the earlier version too.

She goes: "No, she brought Denzel to us", with which Cloud agrees

I think the line "I didn't mean it that way" is what's new.

I cba check the old version so, I suppose if it's bolded, then it's a new translation, or better phrased one XD

And I thought it was obvious that it was Tifa's line XD

I'm a sado so I looked it up. Here's the old version of it:

"Aeris didn't bring Denzel to you."
"Yeah, that's what I thought too."
"Aeris brought that child to us, didn't she?"
Cloud gazed at Tifa and finally smiled. It had the kindness that made her think everything was
fine.

So Isabella was right.

Why did they feel they should add in that line though? It doesn't change it much.

To me it's softening Tifa's tone just a bit. She's less confrontational, more "I agree with you, but you're even more right than you realize!"

"To our home" has also another meaning. Rather than just 'to us', 'our home' has a sense of family bond, something that was lacking in the former line.

I think that's what they have been doing with the revised CoT: they gave it a more family-oriented tone, and that's why "our home" found its way quite naturally there.

Cloud also seems less sure of what he thinks in the revised version upon re-reading it. But the conversation leads him to the same conclusion instead of him agreeing with her before the conversation finishes.

I think she didn't want to offend Cloud's idea that Aerith had brought Denzel to him; it wasn't about NO AERITH DIDN'T BRING YOU HIM but No, she brought him to both of us.
